On-chain Oracles are limited by their ability to scale, particularly on Ethereum. They are relatively inaccessible, bottlenecked by engineering teams, and, most notably, they lack transparency and true decentralization. Since 2017, Chronicle has secured over $10B for DeFi’s largest lending protocol, MakerDAO. And now, for the first time, Chronicle’s market-leading features are available to all Web3 builders anytime, anywhere.

Chronicle started life as the first-ever Oracle on Ethereum, co-developed by our Founder, Niklas Kunkel, in 2017 to facilitate the creation of SAI, the predecessor to DAI.

Many iterations later, Chronicle Protocol remains the exclusive guardian of assets within MakerDAO. At times securing over $20B, enabling Maker to solidify its role as the leading DeFi protocol and largest on-chain lender.
