The tokenization of stocks will be done through the industry standard, and battle tested, collateralized debt positions which will allow flexibility as well as security for our users, whether one decides to be a minter or trader. This effectively gives our community the power to create as many tokenized stocks as they wish.

In addition to gaining economic exposure to one’s favourite stocks on-chain, NASDEX will also employ the latest DeFi mechanics to create additional yield enhancing opportunities. The users will be able to participate in yield farming, liquidity providing, and trading fee rebates which will significantly enhance what they can earn on top of their stock exposure.

What Are the Utilities of NSDX?

The main function of NSDX is to serve to share in the profit of the DEX. Once the exchange is running, the community will share in the upside by holding $NSDX tokens. NSDX holders will be able to share in the revenues of NASDEX through buy-and-distribute, buy-and-burn, or direct profit share mechanism. Actual mechanics will be voted and adjusted through the DAO by the community.

Another function of NSDX is to serve as collateral in the minting of tokenized stocks. And finally there are additional governance features like the ability to vote on new stocks to list on the exchange. 

What Makes NASDEX Unique?

NASDEX is targeting a market with a total combined market cap of over USD100 trillion and a target audience of several hundred million people!

In terms of market size, NASDEX is designed to bring the entire global equity market to crypto investors. Hence, the target market is basically every single listed stock in the world. Through DeFi, which is permission-less and borderless, no market is out of bounds for NASDEX. The entire crypto market is only around USD1.5 trillion. Hence, targeting the global equity market allows NASDEX to target a market that’s 100x the size than a typical DeFi DEX.

In terms of the audience, NASDEX will be able to welcome a larger user base who’s already familiar with equities. Countries with unstable currencies (Nigeria) and countries with strict capital control (Vietnam). But for major developed countries like US or China, which has possibly one of the highest crypto adoption in the world yet the amount of people who own crypto is only less than 10% of the population according to this research. Yet, the amount of people who own stocks in the US is past 50% and in China that number is similar. This means that although crypto adoption is growing significantly, equity owners still make up the majority of the investors in the world. NASDEX will offer these equity owners a much better platform to do investing in tokenized equity.

Who Are the Founders of NASDEX?

NASDEX was founded by Josh Du and Belinda. Josh has been an institutional portfolio manager with over 15 years of investment experience. He managed funds and teams of upwards of USD 1 billion AUM and is knowledgeable in all asset classes including equity, credit, cryptos. Ex-Morgan Stanley, Deutsche Bank. Belinda is a crypto PR and marketing guru with 4 years of experience in blockchain with a stellar client portfolio. She is experienced and resourceful in community building and creating project awareness.
