As the voice of the banking industry, the SBA represents the interests of banks vis-à-vis business, politics, authorities and the general public. It is committed to entrepreneurial freedom of action and open markets and advocates competitive framework conditions that offer room for development and innovation. The SBA was founded in 1912 and brings together around 260 member institutions from various banking groups and other financial service providers as well as 12,000 individual members.
