Proper Snacks is one of the UK’s fastest-growing snack companies, known for its mission to make snacks that taste good and do good. The company was born from the merger of two well-loved brands—Proper (formerly Propercorn) and Eat Real—in 2021. The original Proper brand was founded in 2011 by Cassandra Stavrou and Ryan Kohn. The story began in Cassandra’s kitchen, where she used a repurposed cement mixer to season popcorn. Their big break came when Google’s London headquarters picked up Propercorn, rapidly turning it into a household name. Soon after, Proper snacks were available in major UK supermarkets.
Today, Proper Snacks includes both the Proper and Eat Real brands. Proper offers a variety of plant-based snacks like popcorn and lentil chips—all vegan, gluten-free, and made with natural seasonings. Each bag of Proper popcorn contains fewer than 136 calories, making it a popular choice for health-conscious consumers.
Eat Real, also part of the Proper Snacks family, focuses on snacks made from wholesome ingredients like lentils, chickpeas, and quinoa. The brand emphasizes flavor and nutrition without artificial additives, aligning with a growing demand for plant-based alternatives.
Proper Snacks manufactures its products in its own UK-based factory and distributes more than 12 million bags across Europe each month. The company employs over 260 people, with a headquarters and creative hub in London and a production site in Nuneaton.
