Shatterpoint

Shatterpoint is an NFT-based, Free-to-Play (F2P), action RPG mobile game built on the Polygon blockchain. Players battle in a Player vs Environment (PvE) campaign to gain Abilities, Experience, and the Equipment needed to take on the challenge of Player vs Player (PvP), the combat mode where in-game Tokens, rewards, and leaderboard domination are at stake.

Set in the Shatterpoint universe, players try to escape The Shattering. This irreversible phenomenon resets all the stats of non-NFT Heroes back to zero at the end of each Season. Competing over time-limited challenges, players develop their skill-based gameplay to win in-game resources, progress through the game, and perhaps turn their non-NFT Hero into an NFT, never to fall victim to The Shattering again. Become stronger by acquiring Equipment, upgrading Runes and collecting Quantus. Quantus is an in-game token/resource required for various in-game actions.

Play & Own
Unlike other unsustainable Play-to-Earn and Pay-to-Win games on the market, Shatterpoint focuses on skill-based Free-to-Play and Play & Own models. Shatterpoint is a level playing field - all players have the possibility to upgrade to an NFT-powered Hero and acquire NFT Runes via gameplay. At this point, Shatterpoint becomes a Play & Own game offering players a near-infinite number of playable strategies.

The Shatterpoint game will be available on App Store and Google Play, while the marketplace will be accessible via mobile and desktop browsers.

The Shatterpoint economy is designed to be run by players for players. Since the in-game reward resource, QUA, is off-chain and non-tradable (except in limited amounts for $SHA via the Shatterpoint Treasury), the economy revolves around NFTs – Heroes, Runes, and more.

Each new season holds the promise of new Heroes but the virtual certainty of new Gear destined to shift the game’s meta. The Gear may fit some Heroes better than others and will need Runes that differ from the previous season’s to boost different abilities. Chasing the latest/hottest build (mix of Hero, Gear and Runes) will fuel the Shatterpoint marketplace and drive the economy.

The Shatterpoint economy will elicit assorted participants and activities – Rune traders and Rune mergers, for example. Traders will purchase Runes on the marketplace, focusing on those that boost particular abilities, gambling on the potential popularity and increasing value of certain boosts in future seasons. Rune mergers will see traders acquiring cheap “redundant” Runes with zero or very few boosts, trying their luck at Merging to create rarer, perhaps more powerful Runes.
