I'm responsible for the product development in the team, utilizing my experiences in gaming and frontier tech. We're going to deliver the first decentralized game network that can be used by developers and gamers.
We came up with the idea of EON when we developed our first blockchain game CryptoAlpaca(http://cryptoalpaca.pet/), which already has more than 200k registers. We want to help other blockchain game developers build innovative products and earn more money, by utilizing our accumulated knowledge and best practices.

This is a great idea as it brings more games to the ecosystem. Games are turning out to be the first mass adopted applications on the blockchain. The team behind EON protocol has experience building and running a game, which makes them ideal to build a solution that allows other game developers reach more gamers. In my role as an advisor, I help the team with growth strategies, marketing, and product development. The team executes fast and that's the reason they are one of the only few projects with actual users using the product.

EON is a decentralized digital game distribution platform where gamers can discover, share and play games as well as socialize with the other gamers.

Pros:

  • The platform supports the use of all cryptocurrencies  enabling the game developers to distribute the games easily in all the countries
  • The use of blockchain technologies enables the platform to  make faster transaction making the platform extremely efficient
  • The platform securely stores the user’s traffic on smart contracts  which are auditable by everyone  hence eliminating  the fake traffic problems that exist on the online ads network
  • The platforms referral system enables the developers and the gamers to exchange traffic within the platform using the EON token  and get rewards for their referrals
  • The platform through the game community enables the gamers to socialize and communicate with the other gamers by submitting reviews, photos and videos with these activities contributing to the growth of the EON platform
  • The platform team has adequate experience and skills  necessary for the execution of the project as they are able to create innovative technical products
  • The platform whitepaper is properly detailed giving all the  necessary values of the EON token  in promoting adequate access to different games by users in different countries

CONS:

  • The platform is lacking a well developed mobile application supported by Android to enable the users to easily download different games
  • The platforms involved team has fewer members
  • The platform EON token value at the pre-sale stage   is not highlighted

SUGGESTIONS:

  • The platform technical team should develop a mobile application to enable the users to easily download different games from their mobile devices and desktops
  • The platform team should involve more team members to enable easy implementation of the project

NOTE:

The platform use creates a global access to different games as t embraces blockchain technology enabling the gamers to discover, share and play games more effectively. This makes the project viable and I would invest in it.

EON Protocol has a lot to like but also suffers from some significant inadequacies which may prove to be problematic in tough market conditions. Firstly, the project is operating in the highly lucrative (and competitive) gaming industry which has already achieved global revenues of over $115 billion and is projected to grow by 8.3% on a yearly basis. In addition, approximately over 1 billion gamers are already spending money while playing, and the success of CryptoKitties further illustrates the high demand for dGames, as the game took up more than 20% of all transactions on Ethereum at one point, and the highest price for a cat peaked at $114,000. This shows that there is a definite demand and use case for the EON Protocol and the team’s position is further strengthened by their development of the CryptoAlpaca dGame on Ethereum which has over 200,000 registrations and 50,000 paid users. This gives them a significant community to market to and if they are able to successfully leverage the network already built then it will significantly help their protocol to gain adoption.
This is key as the team is extremely young with a few members coming straight out of university and having little commercial experience. As a result, they will be learning on the job and the gaming world is notoriously fast paced and the team will have little room for errors, and they face competition in the form of Loom Network which is developing side chains and scaling solutions for dApps and games on Ethereum. In addition, while the project has a reasonable valuation of $15 million, crowdsale participants will only have access to 30% of tokens with 50% being reserved for incentives and development. As a result, just how the EON Foundation manage the distribution of the tokens will be crucial to maintaining the value of EOT Tokens.
Despite this, the project is still promising and will appeal to more speculative investors or anyone with a deeper understanding of the gaming industry or dGame phenomenon. Also the fact that the EOT company has secured $5 million of seed round funding from Fission Capital, QuarkChain, and Cherubic Ventures shows that they have developed something attractive to Venture Funds. To conclude, the low valuation and strong use case make this attractive while the youthful team, token metrics, and area operation make this project more appealing to more specialized or speculative investors.

EON is providing a global game distribution platform in order to leave today’s centralized platforms in the past by decreasing the distribution fee to zero. We wouldn’t be as optimistic as the team members, but the idea is more than logical and we are sure decentralized gaming platforms will find their place in the industry. The team has proven their effectiveness by launching a crypto game (CryptoAlpaca) that has 200+ thousand users. Add here several partnerships, plans to support PC and mobile platforms, and an anti-inflation mechanism for the tokens.
A good project with a number of pluses and focused on a good idea, though not a unique one. Considering a huge target market, the guys have a really good chance.
