Although the good health of regional and global economies has been a subject of much debate lately, one of the key channels via which local startups and small businesses in the UAE continue to productively generate revenue is experiential channels such as events. Events that engage the startup and small business community in the region give businesses the ability to build deeper business relationships that are more certain to be sustained independent of external market sentiments.

Numerous social and regulatory initiatives taken by the UAE Government such as the introduction of longer-term visas, quicker freezone business setup processes and the announcement of 2019 as the Year of Tolerance by HH Sheikh Khalifa bin Zayed al Nahyan- the ruler of the UAE- are predicted to have a great positive impact on Dubai as a business hub and preferred city of residence for its expat workers and nationals alike.

The Dubai Startup and SMB Summit- aimed at being the largest platform for startups and small businesses in the region- shall highlight such topics of discussion. The central focus of the event would be on providing a platform for dialogue regarding the Middle East market and discussing key trends of importance to young businesses in the region.

After several successful editions of the Dubai Startup and SMB Summit, the 2019 edition of the Dubai Startup and SMB Summit will observe the meeting of over 500 C-level executives and key decision makers from Startup, Small and Medium Businesses across the UAE, and other parts of the Middle East, Europe and the world.

The event shall be organized by Stride Plus Events, the project being led by their Events Director, Shaumik Saha. On being asked about his objectives behind the event Mr. Saha mentioned, “as per statistics shared by Dubai SME and Dubai Statistics Center last year, small and medium businesses account for nearly half of Dubai’s GDP and employs a little over 52% of its workforce. These numbers highlight the profound impact that SMB’s have in fueling the city’s economy and are a good reason to give such businesses the platform they need, to flourish. This precisely is our objective behind organizing such an event.”

Besides several international speakers and prominent business owners that shall be speaking at the event, the SMB Summit will also have an exhibition of startups presenting their businesses at the event. The event has, and continues to, garner partnerships and sponsorships from some of the leading organizations in the region and is set to be a very successful project in the eyes of its organizers and participants. Event passes are available on the event’s partner ticketing channel, Eventbrite.
