I am a Partner in the Corporate Team at Penningtons Manches LLP. We have a leading Technology Sector Group which is currently very active with international work. I lead our new Digital Business Group. We have a number of large cross-border technology deals on at the moment for a diverse technology client base and have a leading Foreign Direct Investment/Inward Investment practice. Our Digital Business Group comprises a multi-disciplinary team within our firm that keeps pace with the business and legal risks and opportunities affecting the tech marketplace. Our expertise covers a wide range of specialist skills including: • corporate M&A / corporate governance • commercial contracts • regulatory compliance (e.g. information security / competition law / consumer protection laws) • intellectual property • employment • dispute resolution • tax We advise across the breadth of the TMT sector - from business-critical products and services such as cloud-based infrastructure solutions, software, databases and communications systems to downloadable applications and digital media platforms. My legal corporate career spans more than 16 years, having trained and qualified as a solicitor at DLA Piper, moving on to become a Partner at Berwin Leighton Paisner where I headed up the corporate finance/TMT offering. I have a broad range of M&A (domestic and cross-border), private equity and VC experience. In particular I have a strong private equity background, having acted for many mid-market UK PE houses.
