Hans Overturf

Growing up in Switzerland, Hans exhibited a great passion for the financial world, reading the business section of the local newspaper at age 12. His aspiration has always been to be part of a team that builds up an uncommon financial services company that can empower wealthy and not so wealthy clients to develop their own financial momentum. In 1989 Hans started an apprenticeship with the postal service in Zurich, Switzerland. As junior postmaster, Hans had his first exposure to the financial services industry through the Swiss Postbank. During his 2 years in the Swiss Armed Forces he rose to the rank of First Lieutenant, leading a platoon of 43 troops. In 1996 he and his wife Maria immigrated to the United States. He attended Humboldt State University, graduating in 2001 with a degree in Economics, summa cum laude. After graduating Hans was hired by Morgan Stanley in Eureka, CA, as a financial advisor. He received the Morgan Stanley National Director’s Award graduating second in his class of 32 from the training program (original enrollment was 232). In 2003 Hans established his financial services practice in Arcata, CA through Raymond James Financial Services. Since 2009 he is investing his own assets. With the emergence of bitcoin, developments in the fintech industry have been given a jolt and Hans is now assisting Sisu with its ICO: www.sisutoken.io. Financial intermediaries will likely be eliminated or at the least marginalized through smart contracts, distributed ledger and blockchain. Challenges for established players and opportunities for nimble startups abound. Hans is holding or has previously held the following licenses: Series 7 (Stocks, Bonds); Series 66 (California Securities); Series 9/10 General Securities Sales Supervisor (Options and Margin); Series 24 Rules and Regulation (Branch Manager); Series 3, Commodities & Futures, California Insurance License; and Real Estate Licenses in both CA & FL.
