Justin Sun, the founder of cryptocurrency platform TRON, has made his debut on the Forbes World’s Billionaires List for 2025, with an estimated net worth of $8.5 billion, securing the 353rd spot. This marks a remarkable rise, as earlier estimates by Arkham Intelligence pegged his net worth at $1.4 billion just a year ago. Sun's success further highlights the expanding influence of cryptocurrency moguls on global wealth rankings.
Despite Sun's entry, the title of the richest crypto magnate remains firmly held by Changpeng "CZ" Zhao, the former CEO of Binance. Zhao, who now leads YZi Labs, saw his wealth skyrocket from $33 billion to $62.9 billion in just one year. His ascent continued even after facing legal hurdles, including fines and a period of imprisonment, proving his resilience in the volatile crypto market.
Tether’s CFO, Giancarlo Devasini, comes in second among crypto billionaires, with a net worth of $22.4 billion, placing him at number 90. Tether’s leadership, which includes former CEO Jean-Louis van der Velde, current CEO Paolo Ardoino, and General Counsel Stuart Hoegne, is well represented in the list, with four key figures from the stablecoin giant making the cut.
Meanwhile, the Winklevoss twins, Cameron and Tyler, founders of the cryptocurrency exchange Gemini, have also secured their spot on the list, with a net worth of $3.2 billion each. Their exchange processes $30 million in crypto transactions daily, underscoring the importance of Gemini in the crypto ecosystem.
Coinbase co-founders Brian Armstrong and Fred Ehrsam also made it to the Forbes billionaires list. Armstrong ranks 311th with a net worth of $9.2 billion, while Ehrsam is positioned 1362nd with $2.7 billion. Michael Saylor, known for his leadership at Strategy (formerly MicroStrategy), saw his net worth rise by $3 billion to $7.4 billion, fueled by the company’s vast Bitcoin holdings.
The crypto industry continues to be a powerful force in global finance, as other prominent figures like Ripple’s Chris Larsen, Stellar’s Jed McCaleb, venture capitalist Tim Draper, and Galaxy Digital’s Mike Novogratz also join the ranks of crypto billionaires. Collectively, these sixteen magnates have amassed over $164 billion in wealth, highlighting the growing influence and potential of the cryptocurrency sector.
