ICP Unveils Roadmap to Establish Itself as the Epicenter of DeAI on the Blockchain

2024년 5월 17일 BACK TO NEWS

The Internet Computer Protocol (ICP), a decentralized blockchain network, has unveiled a new roadmap aimed at driving decentralized artificial intelligence (DeAI) and chain fusion within the web3 ecosystem, marking a significant milestone in its evolution since the launch of its mainnet three years ago.

ICP’s Strategic Roadmap Unveiled

The release of the Year 4 Internet Computer Roadmap coincides with the third anniversary of ICP’s mainnet launch and encapsulates three years of progress while outlining key development areas to position the network as the hub of DeAI and the orchestration layer for the blockchain industry. At the forefront of this roadmap are the ambitious goals of advancing DeAI and implementing chain fusion.

Empowering Decentralized Artificial Intelligence

The DeAI roadmap charts a course where AI models will be trained to operate on-chain, transcending their current status as black boxes and offering users transparency regarding their data usage. Through AI smart contracts, ICP aims to enhance the efficiency, reliability, and responsiveness of AI inference engines, paving the way for groundbreaking use cases. These include the trading of ready-trained AI models as non-fungible tokens, AI smart contracts validating Ethereum smart contract code, and web3 communities controlling AI models via decentralized autonomous organizations.

Dominic Williams, chief scientist and founder of Dfinity Foundation, emphasized the transformative potential of ICP, stating, “The Internet Computer is the first and only Third-Generation public blockchain... driving a ‘blockchain singularity’ where fully decentralized blockchains become the world’s prevailing tech stack, even running secure and unstoppable AI.”

Addressing Liquidity Fragmentation with Chain Fusion

ICP’s chain fusion roadmap seeks to establish direct interoperability with major blockchains like Bitcoin, Ethereum, Solana, and Ethereum Virtual Machines, eliminating the need for intermediaries. This interoperability aims to resolve liquidity fragmentation and tribalism in the blockchain space, enabling developers to create contracts spanning multiple chains seamlessly.

Williams highlighted the foundation’s commitment to advancing the network's capabilities, making it faster, more efficient, and more powerful. Meanwhile, ICP prides itself on maintaining uninterrupted service since its mainnet launch, processing over three billion blocks and amassing over $3 billion in total locked value.

Looking Forward

As ICP continues to pioneer innovation in the blockchain space, its roadmap signals a strategic shift towards DeAI and chain fusion, reflecting its commitment to shaping the future of decentralized technologies.
