Di CfC St. Moritz

An intimate circle of selected opinion leaders and investors in the truly private and unique setting of the Swiss Alps. The application-only conference fosters a culture of genuine connection and deliberately admits a maximum of only 250 international UHNWI, family offices, funds, and institutional investors, uniting the traditional finance sector and the crypto industry in the heart of the snowy Engadin valley.

During three days, opinion leaders and high-ranking representatives from governmental and supranational bodies, the private sector, academia, and decentralized organizations exchange their knowledge on digital assets, blockchain and traditional finance in various formats on- and off-stage.

Session 1 - Setting the Stage

12:00 - 12:10  CfC St. Moritz Welcome Address Nicolo Stöhr

12:15 - 12:20 Welcome Words by the Mayor of St. Moritz Christian Jott Jenny

12:20 - 12:45

I’m Coming HomeArthur HayesHow Western industrial policy will lead to nominal GDP growth, inflation, and financial repression. The presentation will cover the mechanics of how an explosion of bank credit is required to re-shore, re-arm, and ultimately re-industrialise the West. The challenge for investors and savers is to avoid the financial repression and possible outright asset confiscation that must accompany these industrial policies. What strategies can investors and savers adopt to safeguard their wealth in this environment?

12:50 - 13:30

The US Under President Trump: Unpacking the Next Four YearsSheila Warren,J. Christopher Giancarlo,Teresa Goody Guillen,David WachsmanFollowing the election of President Trump, many industries await the fulfilment of campaign promises. Amid high expectations, questions arise. How will the US election results impact the global and domestic economy, capital markets and foreign policy? Zooming in on our own industry, are there early signs that the industry will thrive in the United States or will this administration be a threat to its progress?

13:30 - 13:55

Removing Uncertainty, enabling Prosperity: A Discussion with CFTC Chairman Rostin BehnamRostin Behnam,Eric van der KleijAny young industry that emerges from technology innovation starts with uncertainty. This fireside takes the pulse of the current state of regulatory maturity and explores what is needed to increase trust and create sustainable, resilient and vibrant progress for the industry.

Session 2 - Supervision & Sovereignty

14:25 - 15:00

Creating Clarity? Examining the European MiCA ModelPrzemysław Kral,Franz Bergmueller,Dr. Joachim Schwerin,Sheila WarrenNow applicable to both issuers of e-money tokens and Crypto Asset Service Providers, the Markets in Crypto Assets (MiCA) sets the ambitious target of legislating for a wide range of crypto assets previously outside of the scope of EU financial services legislation. The nature of the EU has made it possible, for the first time, to implement cross-border regulation, bringing together diverse cultures and businesses to follow standardized rules. Has this unprecedented legislation been a success and does it enable innovation, or is it too soon to tell? And what lessons can the rest of the world learn from MiCA?

15:05 - 15:40

Competition or Collaboration? Finding the Right Balance in Global RegulationDeepa Raja Carbon,Moad Fahmi,Fernando Vázquez Cao,Alex Kim,Dr. Joachim SchwerinHarmony or advantage - international regulators discuss their individual approaches to domestic and cross border regulations. While some put emphasis on regulating the promotion of financial products, others seek to legislate for specific service providers such as centralized exchanges and stablecoin issuers. Despite their varying approaches, one thing unites them: the ultimate goal of creating a trusted and safe environment for digital asset development. Are we moving in the right direction?

15:45 - 16:20

Public vs. Private Money: Exploring a Beneficial Co-existenceLily Liu,Jose Fernandez da Ponte,Prof. Dr. Fabian Schär,Oliver Sigrist,Dr. Joachim SchwerinCentral banks have been issuing money to the public for hundreds of years. Privately issued stablecoins are seeing new levels of adoption and governments strive to regulate - and often compete with but occasionally enable - these innovations. What does society need, and what infrastructure and oversight will help to create a beneficial co-existence?

16:20 - 16:45 Last Break of the Day

Session 3 - Outlook on the Industry

16:45 - 17:25

Investing in Sustainable Adoption or Passing Fads: Hype Cycles, Killer Apps and Web3 TrendsYat Siu,Lowell Ness,Herman Narula,Zenobia GodschalkInvesting and failure go hand-in-hand. As we take chances on new innovations, it’s natural that some industry trends and highly anticipated technologies won’t progress into profitability. Today, there are a broad range of web3 applications and projects available to investors, from gaming to SocialFi to DePin. Where should those looking for winning opportunities focus their attention and which fads of today will turn into success stories of tomorrow?

17:25 - 18:05

Bitcoin Strategies in 2025 and Beyond: The Future of Institutional AdoptionFred Thiel,Anthony Scaramucci,Pascal Gauthier,J. Christopher GiancarloGovernments, institutions, and enterprises with Bitcoin reserves stand ready to reap significant rewards and unlock new benefits, from a hedge against failing fiat currencies, to certainty of ownership as well as asset appreciation. Beyond this, what are some of the strategic reasons for holding or enabling Bitcoin, and are there approaches for generating further returns? Does the infrastructure exist to help facilitate these and what are the remaining obstacles?

18:10 - 18:45

Enabling the Next Decade of Access and GrowthRichard Teng,Brad Garlinghouse,Joel KhaliliThis discussion is with key players in the industry whose products and services have enabled access to digital assets for hundreds of millions of people and played a significant role in contributing to approximately 1 trillion of market cap. However, the sector is still comparatively young but showing signs of great potential. With the wider blockchain industry yet to experience its ChatGPT moment, what infrastructure, trends and environment should we look out for to drive adoption by the next billion users or more?

18:45 - 19:10

Decentralization at a Turning PointJoseph Lubin,Nicolo StöhrFrom its inception, decentralization has been the cornerstone of the blockchain industry’s vision. Today, the rapid growth of protocols, increasing regulatory attention, and the integration of traditional centralized institutions present a pivotal opportunity. How can the industry adapt to these dynamic changes while staying true to its foundational ethos?
