Okx secures pre-authorization under MiCA, expanding its crypto services across Europe and aiming for full license - IcoHolder.

Okx, a major cryptocurrency exchange, has received pre-authorization under the Markets in Crypto-Assets Regulation (MiCA) for Virtual Financial Assets (VFA), marking a significant step toward its goal of obtaining a full MiCA license. This pre-authorization enables the company to offer a wide range of crypto services across the European Economic Area (EEA), reaching over 400 million users.

Once granted the full MiCA license, Okx will be able to provide regulated exchange products, including spot trading and automated bot trading, supporting over 240 cryptocurrency tokens and more than 260 trading pairs. Additionally, the exchange will offer 60 Euro-based trading pairs, further expanding its services to a European audience.

The Malta-based hub, selected for its robust regulatory framework and high standards for blockchain and cryptocurrency technology, will serve as the foundation for Okx’s operations across all 30 EEA member states. With the Class 4 Virtual Asset Service Provider (VASP) license from the Malta Financial Services Authority (MFSA) already in hand, Okx is poised to enhance its presence in one of the world’s most dynamic cryptocurrency markets.

This move underscores Okx’s commitment to providing secure, compliant, and accessible crypto services to a rapidly growing European market.
