Btrust Developer Day 2025 returns for its second edition on December 2, 2025, hosted at the Trianon Convention Centre in Port Louis, Mauritius, strategically scheduled just ahead of the Africa Bitcoin Conference. This one-day, developer-focused event brings together Bitcoin developers, designers, open-source contributors, and builders from Africa and beyond. Attendees can expect deep technical sessions covering privacy tools like Federated Mints and Chaumian eCash, security topics such as multisig and covenants, Lightning and Layer 2 innovations, usable interfaces, and hands-on hack sessions. The day also features project showcases, mentorship-style workshops, and networking opportunities, continuing the community-driven legacy established during the Nairobi inaugural edition, which hosted over 250 participants.
The 2025 edition anticipates over 800 attendees, alongside 30+ expert speakers, 50+ startups and projects, and 20+ media teams covering the global Bitcoin ecosystem. Participants will benefit from workshops on Bitcoin Layer 2, Lightning, Nostr, open-source tools, and zero-knowledge proofs, as well as panels on Bitcoin in Africa, scaling Bitcoin, and decentralized technologies. Networking zones will facilitate meaningful connections with developers, founders, and investors, while demos from African startups and hackathons with grants will provide opportunities to start or grow innovative projects.
