Satlantis

Satlantis is a Spanish aerospace company specializing in high-resolution Earth observation solutions. Leveraging advanced space optics technology, Satlantis offers end-to-end services for small satellites, including CubeSats and microsatellites, tailored for both Earth observation and space science missions.

Tentang Satlantis

At the heart of Satlantis' offerings are its iSIM (integrated Standard Imager for Microsatellites) optical payloads. These payloads provide very high-resolution imaging capabilities, with resolutions down to 2 meters in multiple spectral bands, including visible, near-infrared (VNIR), short-wave infrared (SWIR), and thermal infrared (TIR). Notably, the iSIM-90 camera enables simultaneous imaging across four bands with a swath width of 14 km, making it suitable for a wide range of applications, from environmental monitoring to defense and security.

Notable Missions

  • GARAI A: Launched in January 2025, GARAI A is a 115 kg microsatellite equipped with advanced optical instruments capable of capturing high-resolution images across multiple spectral channels, including polarimetry. It is part of the Atlantic Constellation, a collaboration between Spain and Portugal aimed at enhancing Earth observation capabilities. Its applications include monitoring greenhouse gas emissions and disaster response.

  • HORACIO: Launched in March 2024, HORACIO is a 16U CubeSat featuring the iSIM-90 camera. It offers simultaneous coverage in the visible and near-infrared spectra, with a resolution of up to 2 meters and a swath of 14 km. This mission provides high-resolution Earth observation data for various commercial applications.

  • GEISAT Precursor: Launched in June 2023, this satellite is equipped with the iSIM-90 VNIR SWIR camera and focuses on environmental monitoring, particularly tracking greenhouse gas emissions. Advanced compression technologies enhance its data transmission efficiency.

Applications

Satlantis' high-resolution imaging solutions are utilized across various sectors:

  • Environmental Monitoring: Tracking deforestation, land use changes, and greenhouse gas emissions.

  • Agriculture: Monitoring crop health and optimizing irrigation practices.

  • Disaster Management: Assessing damage from natural disasters and coordinating response efforts.

  • Defense and Security: Providing intelligence and surveillance data for national security.

Satlantis continues to innovate in Earth observation, with plans to expand its small satellite constellation to provide more frequent and comprehensive coverage. Its commitment to advancing space optics technology positions it as a key player in the global Earth observation landscape.
