Bio
I am a Serbian-born artist with a Master of Arts from the Academy of Fine Arts in Belgrade and a Master of Science from Politecnico di Milano in Italy. Currently, I am pursuing a PhD at the Academy of Fine Arts in Belgrade. My work has been featured in over 40 local and international exhibitions, including notable venues such as the largest billboard in Times Square, Art in Space gallery in Dubai, and Mad Arts Space in Florida. My pieces are part of private collections across the USA and Europe. I also have a professional background in design and programming.
Statement
My work explores the psychological and social discourses that subtly shape various aspects of human life. I address themes such as war, cultural trauma, biopolitics of power, societal circumstances, and their reflection in the intimate micro-narratives of everyday life. Inspired by the history of Eastern Europe and the context in which I was raised, I draw from my experiences and dreams to reveal the broader transgenerational consequences that shape the present. I aim to provoke thought, to stir the subconscious, and subvert the reality.
The narrative of my work integrate vibrant, childlike imagery and characters as a dispositive to dark humor. This gap reflects the innocence and playful nature of youth with the often unsettling violence that underpins societal complexities inscribed in the individual from the early childhood. By juxtaposing these elements, I aim to create a tension and confront uncomfortable truths about power, identity, and the human experience.
Rather than focusing on formally coherent approach, my artistic process integrates diverse methods across a wide range of media, merging traditional techniques like painting and drawing with digital art forms such as processing, and generative art. I’ve always been fascinated by how technology can push the boundaries of creativity and I am interested in challenging conventional artistic practices, experimenting with new technologies and exploring their role in our rapidly advancing technological society.
