Circles is a digital currency protocol that gives every participant the ability to directly create money. Unlike traditional currencies, there is no central authority controlling or restricting access. Each user continuously creates their own CRCs, and trust relationships allow these unique tokens to become fungible.
How does Circles work?
Each participant receives 1 CRC every hour, which is 24 CRCs per day. These tokens can be exchanged with other users through a trust network, where transactions are possible between people who have established mutual trust. Additionally, users can join groups to exchange group currency and expand their capabilities within the community.
Technological basis
Circles uses smart contracts deployed on the Gnosis Chain network to create personal and group avatars and their currencies (CRCs). The protocol is based on the ERC1155 standard, which allows for flexibility and scalability. The Circles SDK is available for developers, providing tools for integrating the protocol into various applications.
Community and Participation
Circles actively supports the community through forums, documentation, and initiatives like Circles v2, which aim to improve the protocol and expand its capabilities. Participants can make suggestions, discuss ideas, and collectively grow the Circles ecosystem.
