Bitfarms Ltd. is a major Canadian Bitcoin mining operator founded in 2017. The company operates vertically integrated data centers in Canada, the United States, Argentina, and Paraguay, powering over 75% of its operations with clean hydroelectric power. Bitfarms designs, owns, and operates its mining farms, including its own engineering and installation services, as well as on-site technical repair centers.
The company is actively expanding its capacity: in 2024, it acquired Stronghold Digital Mining, increasing its energy capacity to 623 MW and securing a strategic presence in the US market. Bitfarms is also actively managing its cryptocurrency asset: in December 2024, the company sold 147 BTC for $14.3 million and increased its reserves to 934 BTC, which corresponds to $87.8 million at a price of $94,000 per BTC.
