Deutsche WertpapierService Bank AG (dwpbank) is the market-leading service provider for securities services in the German financial center. With over 1,000 affiliated institutions, around three quarters of all banks in Germany use dwpbank's process and system services. dwpbank manages over 5.2 million securities accounts from savings banks, cooperative banks, private and commercial banks across all sectors. With over 200,000 managed users - investment advisors and employees in credit institutions - dwpbank's central processing platform WP3 is one of the largest IT applications in the German banking landscape. Business model: As a bundler of large transaction volumes from all three sectors of the German financial system, dwpbank achieves cost advantages through economies of scale and economies of scope in products, services and know-how. It also relieves its customers by assuming operational risks (control of operational risk). Through its product and service offering, dwpbank enables synergies to a large extent for each of the affiliated credit institutions.
