Steve Aoki and Seth Green’s Stoopid Buddy Stoodios' genesis NFT project Dominion X launched August 2nd, 2021 on NiftyGateway and sold out in under 7 seconds! A collection of animated loops with original music from Aoki, Dominion X became the first stop-motion short to be minted on the blockchain and the catalyst for what’s to come.

While the fine folks at Stoopid Buddy were busy working on a new season of Robot Chicken, Character X felt a little neglected. Maybe more than a little…so he decided to, well, replicate.

Introducing ReplicantX, the next chapter in the Character X saga and the beginning of on-chain community driven storytelling. This collection of 7,777 NFTs is made up of hundreds of exciting visual traits designed by Stoopid Buddy Stoodios and hand selected by Steve Aoki.

But ReplicantX isn’t just your average collectible jpg. It is your entry into a new type of community driven, gamified storytelling. This is your chance to help write an animated series as it goes into production (Lord knows we could use the help).

Steve Aoki

Counting nearly 3 billion music streams to his name, Steve Aoki is a true visionary. As a solo artist, Aoki boasts a lauded cross-genre discography that includes 7 studio albums and collaborations with Lil Uzi Vert, Maluma, BTS, Linkin Park and Louis Tomlinson amongst others. In 1996, he established Dim Mak out of his college dorm room, a trendsetting record label, events/lifestyle company and apparel brand. It has served as a launch pad for global acts like The Chainsmokers, Bloc Party, The Bloody Beetroots, and The Kills, in addition to being the home of early releases from acts such as ZEDD and Diplo.

A true renaissance man, Steve Aoki is also a fashion designer, author and entrepreneur. In 2012, he founded THE AOKI FOUNDATION, which primarily supports organizations in the field of brain science research with a specific focus on regenerative medicine and brain preservation. Aoki’s multi-faceted journey is chronicled through the Grammy-nominated Netflix documentary I’ll Sleep When I’m Dead (2016) and his memoir BLUE: The Color of Noise(2019). In the summer of 2020, Aoki unveiled his Latin music imprint, Dim Mak En Fuego, continuing to break down musical and cultural boundaries ‘by any means.

Stoopid Buddy Stoodios

Stoopid Buddy Stoodios is an artist-friendly collective that houses some of the finest talent in animation and entertainment. They’ve got a knack for creating unique visuals and telling character driven stories with an uncanny and irreverent sensibility. The Stoodio is home to the longest running stop-motion show on TV, the multi Emmy Award-winning Robot Chicken, as well as Crossing Swords on Hulu, Marvel’s M.O.D.O.K., Ultra City Smiths on AMC, and several others. Stoopid Buddy’s “Builds” division is behind the Emmy Award-winning costumes on FOX’S Masked Singer, and their “Spots” team has delivered commercials for clients ranging from LEGO to Pepperidge Farms.
