About NonFunGerbils

NonFunGerbils is a collaborative NFT project that combines digital art, community engagement, and blockchain technology. Each NonFunGerbil is a unique non-fungible token minted on popular blockchains and inspired by cultural themes and current events, often created with guest artists.

The project is built around a podcast where, at the end of each episode, the name of the next Gerbil is announced. Listeners submit creative descriptions via social media, and the best submission becomes the official description featured in the token, with the contributor credited. Artists then create the artwork based on the winning description. Contributors receive the corresponding NonFunGerbil NFT, and the scarcity of each Gerbil depends on the number of submissions.

An interactive treasure hunt adds another layer of engagement. Clues hidden within the artwork of early NonFunGerbils lead participants to a wallet seed, with rewards for those who solve the puzzle first.
