MARAChain ICO is a safe exchange of the first digital document with GDPR Strict Compliant and Official Time Stamping to legally and safely prove the moment of sending the document. With this exchange it is possible to send encrypted secure documents, restrict access to third parties, provide access control to these trustworthy transfers via auditable, verifiable and secure P2P transactions It will be possible. These transmissions are made through a distributed network of nodes in the leading DPC in Europe and guarantee protection against information loss due to 24 hours 365 days of information availability and distributed network redundancy.

About MARAChain

In the times we are living data privacy and protection is an major concern across the globe, especially the way in which private data is handled by corporations in an increasingly digital world. The EU has issued a series of regulatory standards to protect the private information of citizens of the European Union (EU), called GDPR (General Data Protection Regulation). This regulation, which is in effect as of the 25th of May 25th, set series of rules and sanctions not only for organisations based in the EU but even for business and professional entities having business activity in the European territory or those that are handling private data of EU citizens.

The GDPR aims to protect personal data (all data sets that identifies a person) of all citizens of the EU and enforces their right that all entities processing or possesing data of EU citizens are under obligation to comply with. With these regulations, the citizen has right to access the data that an entity may have, the right to be erased from any database (‘the right to be forgotten’), and the right to explicit consent. Not only do the citizens have more rights but the regulations also impose new obligations on business entities, such as mandatory communication of security breaches in 72 hours. A failure to comply with GDPR will result in a significant monetary penalty of up to 4% of the entity’s revenueor 20 million euros, whichever is higher. In addition, the business entities may be prohibited from processing personal data in future, which may effectively mean not being able to conduct business at all. One of the main risks to data protection is the open transfer of documents, which must be confidential and guarantee an adequate level of security that includes protection against unauthorized or illegal treatment and against loss, destruction or accidental damage.

This confidential and secure exchange of information shall be the focus business segment of MARACHAIN.

The Secure Exchange of Digital Documentation allows transmission of encrypted and secure documentation, restricting access to third parties and offering access management to these creditable transfers, through an auditable, verifiable and secure P2P transaction. These transmissions will be made through a distributed network of nodes located in the main European DPCs, guaranteeing 24x7 availability of information as well as protection against information loss thanks to the redundancy of MARACHAIN network.

Features

Business to Customer (B2C), Customer to Business (C2B) or Person to Person (P2P) Exchange of digital documents, complaint at all levels with GDPR with option of temporary storage, through blockchain technology and the use of programming languages such as PHP7 and Node.JS that allow rapid development of applications.

Thanks to these technologies, the Marachain project will have the following major features:

  1. Scalability: in storage and development, given the open-source nature of the technologies used.
  2. Security: The documents shall be compressed and encrypted by a double AES256 system, preventing access by any person who is not the addressee and / or sender. The technical staff will not be able to access the content of the transmitted documents. In case of loss of credentials, the received and sent documents will not be accessible with secondary verification like Electronic ID. “Security Certification”.
  3. Verifiability: Every document sent is verifiable at any time, without the need for signatures or verification codes. Just by uploading the document to “Verification Area” it can be known if the document has ever been stored in the system. Sender Name along with date and time stamp shall also be provided at the time of verification. This verification can be carried out even if the document has been deleted from the data warehouse and is known as “Transmission Certification”.
  4. Auditability: Any authorised person or entity such as auditor or regulator shall have access to the record book (not the documents), allowing to know, in real time or real-time, the use of the system as well as document transactions. Given the private nature of data, the underlying data will not be displayed.
  5. KYC: A Sender may send documents to any person or body but only on the registered email address of the recipient. KYC verification of the recipient is a must before a sender can electronically transmit any document. As soon as the , the system will ask for ID or Passport accreditation, as well as a photo of the person (selfie), to proceed with the verification of the identity. Once verified, the user will receive access credentials to the platform, here you´ll be able to read all documents received.
  6. Access: The registration of access to each document sent through the system is enabled, allowing the sender to know if it has been delivered , read or not by the recipient. “Reading Certification”.
  7. Speed: Document transactions will be performed immediately and without any human intervention, allowing the sender to have delivery certification.
  8. Redundancy: Given the distributed nature of the BlockChain technology, all information and / or document stored in the system will be replicated in each project server (never less than 3 servers), which have certification of location within the EU, an essential requirement for compliance with the GDPR at the lowest level. This way, in case of loss of a server for any reasons, the system will not be affected.

Technical Info

MARACHAIN is based on a distributed network of nodes located in the main Data Centers, interconnected through security protocols. This network allows us to design MARACHAIN through three levels or layers of Application:

  • File Storage Layer: IPFS in private mode - the IPFS nodes will be owned by Mara, and will be located in Europe, to establish compliance with the GDPR.
  • Blockchain layer: each IPFS node acts, in turn, as a blockchain node, where we store the document transactions; the data of the transaction will correspond to the hash of the document in IPFS, among other relevant data.Initially, Multichain will be used as Blockchain platform; but the use of TON (Telegram Open Network) as Blockchain platform will be studied.
  • Application Layer: PHP7 development that acts as Blockchain and IPFS client. This layer must perform the encryption of the files stored in IPFS, as well as the management of the mailboxes (wallets in Blockchain) of each client.
