Join us for an evening of ICO discussions, pitches, and networking focused on the high growth area of Initial Coin Offerings.
The market capitalization for virtual issues has surged 870% over the last 12 months, from $12 billion to over $100 billion. — via forbes.
With more than $1.2 billion worth of funding in 2017, Initial Coin Offerings (ICO)have quickly become one of the fastest growing segments in early stage funding. An ICO is effectively a crowd funding mechanism for digital currency projects. Many know of Bitcoin as a digital currency, but there are many different digital currencies available today. Recently the teams behind these digital currencies seek funding to develop their project. To do this, they request Bitcoins from the general public and promise to issue participants new a proportional number of their newly minted “coins" (or digital currency). This is partially similar to an “IPO", in which a company issues shares to the general investing public for the first time.
