Bio: Jeff Pulver is known globally as someone who helped create the VoIP Industry and the co-founder of Vonage. In 2009 Jeff started #140conf looking at the effects of social media on business and life. In 2016 Jeff launched MoNage which explores the future of communications and the evolution of conversational interfaces while looking at the intersection of: computing, AI and communications. Since 1995, Jeff Pulver has been involved in many startups. Some as founder, others as co-founder and others as an advisor and/or investor.

Talk #1: BitCoin has garnered much of the public attention with initial negative news on contraband and hacking moving on towards lottery ticket style dreams and explosive growth. There's more to blockchain than just BitCoin though. Our digital future can involve all sorts of asset exchanges, asset tracking, contract agreements, and more. Learn about private and public blockchains, ICO's, wallets, and how the AI interconnected future may shape up.

Bio: Liana Douillet Guzmán is a member of the executive leadership team at Blockchain, the leading software platform for digital assets. As SVP. Liana is responsible for all outward facing aspects of the business, including Strategy, Partnerships, Expansion, Talent, Marketing and Communications. She is a noted FinTech leader and featured speaker at events across the world. Before joining the ranks at Blockchain, Liana headed up Branding and Communications at Axiom, a professional services firm, and helped them grow to a $250 million dollar industry leader with 2000 people in 17 offices globally.

Talk #2: What does blockchain development look like and where does it apply? This session on Blockchain will cover some basic fundamentals to make sure everyone is grounded in the same version of the truth. It will then dive into programming assets called Developer Journeys to help you get started with your coding projects. Lastly. the session will touch upon some real world use cases in different industries to give you ideas on how the technology can be implemented. You will leave with a better understanding of Blockchain and some assets you can leverage to start coding today!

Bio: Bruce Weed is the New York City Leader/Chief Developer Advocate for IBM’s Digital Business Group. Mr. Weed is a thought leader around AI/Watson, IoT, Blockchain, Cloud and Big Data with industry knowledge in the following: Retail, Finance, Healthcare, and Automotive. He runs LinkedIn groups with over 55K+ members on IBM Watson & IoT, IBM Big Data andAnalytics, and Blockchain for Business; these groups look at both use cases and technology trends.
