About Delphi Systems

The Oracle Problem
Though smart contracts have incredible potential, they are blind to the world beyond the blockchain. For external information, these applications need oracles to provide them with data. Since a contract's input determines its result, the oracle involved with a smart contract ultimately has the power to decide how that contract behaves.

Where Things Stand
So far, the approaches to the so-called Oracle Problem have each fallen into one of two categories: centralized oracles (which can defeat the purpose of even doing things with a smart contract at all) and rigid oracular consensus engines, which are difficult (and expensive) to develop, use, and upgrade.

Our Vision
We are taking a different approach: rather than committing to one particular solution, we're focusing on building extensible distributed frameworks and full-fledged signaling mechanisms. With these tools, we aim to build a worldwide oracle marketplace and ecosystem, and unlock the true power of the blockchain.

Delphi Systems Roadmap

  • Q4 2017 Project Launch

  • The compound PHI token is launched on the public Ethereum blockchain and the majority supply is auctioned and distributed to the community. Explorations into the Pythia framework and Omphalos contracts begin, as alpha versions of these constructs are built, tested, launched, and used.
  • Q2 2018 The Fundamentals of the Platform

  • 10% of Founder's Tokens are matured upon delivery of this milestone. Incremental improvements to the Pythia and Omphalos contract designs are released; overall platform utility is substantially increased. Drafts of formal analyses regarding the possibilities and limitations within the Pythia framework are published for public peer review and scrutiny.
  • Q4 2018 The Dawn of Tholos

  • 5% of Founder's Tokens are matured upon delivery of this milestone. User-friendly interfaces emerge, as the front-end of the Delphi stack takes shape. Graphical assets and libraries are released and community feedback is gathered and incorporated. Substantial improvements in terms of documentation and best usage practices are realized.
  • Q2 2019 Token Complements

  • 5% of Founder's Tokens are matured upon delivery of this milestone. As mainnet deployments of oracles begin to take root, the significance and power of the signal token are amplified. Oracle service quality data begins to be collected and organized, and analytical tools to inspect and manage such data are rolled out.

  • Q4 2019 Crossing the Chasm

  • Supplemental tools, libraries, and services are provided as the lower layers of the platform's stack graduate from beta software status. Partnerships are established and solidified, as Delphi's oracle solutions begin to provide demonstrable value to the ecosystem at large. Experimental tools and deployments on platforms beyond the Ethereum blockchain are built and refined.
  • Q2 2020 Agora Online

  • 20% of Founder's Tokens are matured upon delivery of this milestone. The Oracle Marketplace becomes a reality. A full oracle suite exists, with usable tools and frameworks to navigate the ecosystem in place. Delphi Systems run oracle data services on Agora, alongside other actors on the open market competing for usage. Users and applications begin to tap into the true potential of a high-quality distributed oracle network.
