Databases are the backbone of the information age. The time has come to port them to the blockchain.

About cybervein

The Cybervein Foundation develops blockchain-based, decentralized database solutions, capable of storing vast amounts of structured data on-chain. The Cybervein network is the first Distributed Ledger System allowing for the decentralized management of complex data-sets on the blockchain itself, without requiring additional, often centralized, storage providers. Data stored on the Cybervein network can be queried, analized, and manipulated by multiple agents, while remaining synchronized as a single source of truth.

Cybervein’s smart-contracting language has been optimized for crypto-economic models which allow to define data-value, and hence incentivise data trade, and cross-industry sharing of information.

Cybervein’s disruptive potential can be realized anywhere vast amounts of data need to be processed immutably by several parties in parallel. These include research facilities that operate shared databases, large organizations that need to synchronize their records, as well as smart cities and providers of big-data and machine-learning services.

Essentially, Cybervein could present a mechanism through which owners of vast amounts of data could monetize their sets, hence being incentivised to make it publically available on the blockchain. Alternatively, owners of data sets could make their raw data available for third parties to segment and structure it in order to increase the value of their databases.

Cybervein’s eventual goal is to create an universal “Internet of Data”, inter-connecting databases of entire industries, and hence increasing the overall value and connectivity of human knowledge.
