Welcome Home 2.0! BRCvr was created at the start of the pandemic in 2020 to find a way for the Burning Man community to connect when the in-person even in Black Rock City was canceled. BRCvr was created to foster a diverse creative Burning Man-inspired community who build immersive and inclusive social experiences that encourage collaboration, elevate artists and delight participants. Over 3 years, the team created three official virtual Burning Man events, a digital version of the acclaimed Desert Arts Preview featuring over 50 honorarium art projects being built at the 2022 in-person Burning Man event, and 25 Friday Night Community Gatherings. BRCvr burns all year round!

The Objective
- To create a way for the global Burning Man community to gather as an alternative experience to the canceled in-person week long event in Black Rock City. This included the creation of well known Burning Man event locations like Center Camp, The Man Base, The Temple, Gate Line, theme camps, art cars, artist talks, live DJ’s, exploration of the 10 Principles, meditations, and a to-scale model of the iconic Black Rock City, the physical location of the event outside of Gerlach, NV. We invited the Burning Man community and VR community to create, collaborate, and elevate each other. To learn more about BRCvr, click here.
- To create a tool-kit to empower the community to build their own virtual Burning Man inspired camps, art, and worlds.
- To produce year-round live events including 2 week long virtual burns, accessible to anyone in the world with a computer or HMD and wifi connection, and inspired by the 10 Principles of Burning Man.

Why We Are Proud
BRCvr was selected as an official virtual Burning Man experience for both the 2020 and 2021 virtual Burns by the Burning Man Project. It was given this honor again with a third virtual Burn in January 2023 called “Re-Burn-23.” To learn more about Re-Burn-23, click on this link.
