Cardium

Cardium

Created using Figma
Cardium Ecosystem, the key element will be a high-tech fitness tracker, will allow participants to convert the calories spent during the day into tokens. The opportunity to combine in the Mining Pool, or to join existing ones, on the gyms territory, will facilitate the process of involvement and become an additional motivation for people to share their pastime. Participants will also be able to exchange accumulated tokens for goods and services from project partners submitted to the marketplace.

About Cardium

Obesity and overweight

Every year more and more people fall into the category of those whose BMI (body mass index) exceeds the allowable norm of 25 кg/m2. Let's take a look at the data for 2016 provided by the World Health Organization:

  • The number of people suffering from obesity has tripled since 1975;
  • Over 1.9 billion adults, aged 18 and over, had problems with overweight and 650 million of them were obese;
  • Majority of the world population lives in countries where obesity kills more people than underweight;
  • 41 million children under the age of 5 years are overweight or obese;
  • Over 340 million children aged 5 to 19 years are overweight or obese.

Unfortunately, the trend does not change. Despite millions of dollars being invested in public and private sector marketing to increase the public's physical activity, the number of people suffering from obesity is only growing. In 2016 650 million people were affected by this epidemic; by 2017 this figure had grown by 100 million to 750 million (according to Renewbariatrics).

With the help of Cardium we want to turn the dynamics in the opposite direction.

Features

Device

Cardium fitness tracker will have a full set of features specific to this type of device
in 2018, namely:

  • Tracking the number of steps and calories and setting goals;
  • Monitoring the effectiveness and quality of sleep;
  • Heart rate measurement;
  • Displaying notifications, vibrating on incoming call;
  • Distance triggered alert system that notifies you if your phone and fitness
    tracker get separated, preventing theft or loss;
  • Great battery life (about 2 weeks of usage);
  • IP65 rated enclosure.
  • In addition to having all the necessary functionality for this type of device, users will
    receive tokens for each burned calorie.

Marketplace

Marketplace is an important component of the Cardium ecosystem. It allows people to easily find services within it. Personal trainers, gyms, sport related
products from Cardium partners. We think that it's nice to have the ability to use both tokens and fiat to pay. Cardium will prioritize providing such services in locations where the majority of users of the ecosystem will be.

Mining pools

How to engage people through sports? Not only sport activities, but also getting in contact with each other, because we believe that doing sports together is fun. The solution to this issue comes from the world of mining. We want to give opportunity to Cardium fitness trackers holders to unite in mining pools. Gym owners can organize these pools at their facilities or incorporate them in their preexisting activities.

Higher mining speed will encourage people to visit gyms and other points on interest related to sport activity (Cardium mining pools), thus solving another, no less important problem - socialization of an individual.

A solution like this is beneficial for both parties. Users get more tokens by exercising in these spots, gyms and companies alike attract those who are used to exercise alone or not used to gyms.

Events

Sporting events are something that both adults and children can enjoy. They give an opportunity not only to show themselves and their abilities, but also to relieve stress and tension.

The purpose of such events is simple - the formation of a healthy lifestyle and increased social activity. All of them are aimed at promoting sports, fostering
10 determination, developing physical qualities and of course, fighting the worst enemy of a large part of the world population - overweight and obesity.
What's specific about events held in the Cardium ecosystem is that users will receive not only some kind of alert on the screen of their smartphone in the form of a medal confirming the achievement of the goal, but also quite tangible prizes provided by sponsors and advertisers.

To participate in the event of Cardium ecosystem, a user must transfer some Cardium tokens to the special address, this counts as enrollment fee. Tokens collected this way will be returned to the ecosystem and will be available for mining once again.

Charity

We understand that this problem is global and it needs to be solved by all available means, not just by the Cardium project alone. That's why 1 US dollar from every fitness tracker purchase is planned to be donated to charitable foundations that need funding for their research of health problems related to obesity and overweight.

Technical Info
