About Kevin Johnson
As a serial entrepreneur for over 25 years and a former member of USMC Force Recon, Kevin has lived at the vanguard of various technology growth revolutions: early on embracing the DotCom boom, the e-commerce wave and more recently blockchain as a disruptive innovator. He is an autodidact and self taught computer & systems whiz kid! He relishes the challenges of leading companies through the startup phase and has been involved in various aspects of fintech, IT & e-commerce, in many operational levels.
Kevin is an avid blockchain and cryptocurrency early adopter, perennially at the forefront of the latest trends, as he is driven by his excitement for integrating new technologies into useful business applications.
He has always been a Silicon Valley nerd and Tech insider. Back in his early high school days, Kevin was considered a prototypical “tech geek” who received grants from HP and designed his schools very first IT admin system. During the DotCom revolution, in 1997 (coinciding with Amazon.com going public and when 14% of the worldwide Internet users were located in California), Kevin founded his own successful CA statewide ISP to capitalize on the exponential growth of the internet.
In 2002, he moved to Bangkok to search throughout Southeast Asia to locate suppliers for the new US & European e-commerce markets. Eventually, he founded Marketplace Authority for global trading using in-house platforms and guaranteed profit margins with a custom built Arbitrage Search Engine for aggregation of data from various API’s. More recently as the CEO of Naked Sellers, an SME B2C e-commerce start-up he architected a high performance e-commerce system prototype with a core architecture now capable of exploiting the versatility of the AWS platform.
Kevin is a native of California and currently shares his time between residences in Las Vegas, Nevada and Bangkok, Thailand.
