The Science of Blockchain Conference 2025 (SBC’25) will take place 4–6 August 2025 in the Martin Luther King Jr. Building at UC-Berkeley, California. Co-organized by the Initiative for Cryptocurrencies & Contracts (IC3), the Stanford Center for Blockchain Research (CBR) and UC Berkeley’s RDI Lab, SBC’25 brings together leading researchers and practitioners to advance the technical foundations of blockchain protocols, cryptography, distributed systems and crypto-economics. Attendance is free (register by 11 July 2025 for in-person or virtual participation), and all talks will be streamed live with recordings made available after the conference.

Over three days, the conference will feature:

  • Keynote and invited talks from world-renowned experts like Dan Boneh (Stanford), Ari Juels (Cornell Tech/IC3) and Dawn Song (Berkeley RDI).
  • Peer-reviewed paper sessions covering consensus algorithms, secure computing, interoperability and novel blockchain applications.
  • Affiliated workshops on August 3–7, including the SBC DAO Workshop, Summit on Decentralization & AI, Stanford’s BASS, Science and Engineering of Consensus, and MEV-SBC 25.
  • Networking opportunities with 400+ attendees, hands-on demos, and an exhibition of cutting-edge projects.

Whether you’re an academic, protocol developer or industry innovator, SBC’25 offers a unique forum to share breakthroughs, forge collaborations and shape the next generation of blockchain technology
