WBO encourages the implementation of the Global Code of Ethics for Blockchain community, to maximize blockchain technology’s socio-economic contribution while minimizing its possible negative impacts, and is committed to promoting blockchain technology as an instrument in achieving the United Nations Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs), geared towards fostering sustainable development worldwide.

WBO generates market knowledge, promotes competitive and sustainable blockchain policies and instruments, fosters blockchain education and training, and works to make blockchain an effective tool for development through United Nations technical assistance projects in over 100 countries around the world.

WBO’s membership includes Corporate Membership, Alliance Membership and Observer Membership representing the major blockchain players, key blockchain organizations and regional blockchain authorities around the world.

Our mission is to guide and promote comprehensive adoption of blockchain technology across industries.

We do this by engaging with policymakers, regulators, technology innovators and market participants through direct communication, comment letters, studies and more to guide the public dialogue about blockchain, digital currencies and smart contract technology, so that the industries can realize the full potential of these capabilities.
