NEW YORK, April 10 2019 – Knights have the Round Table, Delegates have the UN, Darth Vader has the Death Star. Really, anything with a pulse has a place to meet. But where do the leaders, visionaries and artists from the blockchain and entertainment industry go?

They go to Screenbreaker: The festival for blockchain entertainment by blockchain entertainment. It’s where the bravest ideas and innovations are front and center; where the way we create, distribute and share content is being redefined; where the entertainment industry will be shaped for the future.

A joint venture between blockchain entertainment studio Breaker and Screen International, the global film industry’s leading B2B publication, Screenbreaker is part of Breaker’s mission to empower artists and consumers with transparency and fairness with its blockchain-powered entertainment platform.

Thought-leaders in politics, journalism, tech and entertainment will explore new prospects for music, film, media and gaming in New York on April 26 and 27 for the first edition.

Speakers in New York feature Paul Vigna (WSJ), filmmaker Keith Bearden (Guggenheim Fellow), and Cryptopunk co-creator Matt Hall, Strongurl founder Jamie Moy, New York State Assemblyman Clyde Vanel (District 33), Ann Rosenberg (Global Head of SAP Next-Gen).

Topics include:
• Rights, Royalties and Revenues on the Blockchain
• Innovation in the Arts
• Transparency for the Music Industry
• Blockchain and Legislation
• Who to Trust: Media and Influencers?
• Whitepapers and DIY Marketing
• Gaming on the Blockchain

Breaker embraces independent filmmaker and undertold stories, which means that Screenbreaker will give New Yorkers sneak previews of films, music and brand-new talent from the festival’s Break Through competition.

• Alex Winter’s documentary TRUST MACHINE: THE STORY OF BLOCKCHAIN, narrated by Rosario Dawson, that shows why banks are terrified of blockchain while UNICEF embraces it to help refugee children.

• SXSW festival hit PERFECT is a transgressive sci-fi thriller by Eddie Alcazar (one of Filmmaker’s 25 New Faces). Scored by Flying Lotus and executive-produced by Steven Soderbergh, PERFECT opens in New York’s Village East on Friday May 17.

• Following in the footsteps of his fellow Dutch DJs Tiësto and Martin Garrix, Amsterdam-born, New York-based DJ Jaziah brings his jetsetting beats to Screenbreaker.

Break Through competition: worldwide competition for the next generation of filmmakers and artists. The winner will get a channel on Breaker.io and will be invited to Screenbreaker’s London edition in June with up to two team members.

Screenbreaker is powered by Warsteiner USA, Kendu.com, Breakermag and The Creative Crypto.
