Reef Features
SquidProval - SquidProval is a community-driven voting system which allows the
verified members of the Reef community to vote for what games enter the
platform.
Each game developer will provide a short video which showcases their game
alongside a brief bio on them and their game. Gamers will then have the
opportunity to make an informed decision on the presented game and either
vote ‘yes’ or ‘no’ for the game to enter the platform.
Each game will be live for voting for one week, after which ratings will be totalled
and averaged and games that attain a certain percentage of ‘yes’ votes, will then
be eligible to become full members of Squid Network’s Platform.
This process puts the control in the hands of the gamers, whilst increasing
competitiveness among game developers which is essential for developing new
innovative games. Overall making the Reef ecosystem a more vibrant and diverse
place for both developers and gamers alike.
The benefit of the gaming community being at the forefront of decision making
within the platform is a more coherent market and a unique bond being formed
between the developers and gamers. All developers will have earned their place
among the community and will immediately have supporters of their game. This
is beneficial to all parties and creates a community whereby games are not
forced upon its users.
Reviews - Reef will have the functionality to allow gamers to easily refer games
they enjoy to their friends through a messaging system allowing gamers to refer,
review and discuss their favourite games.
All games will have ratings and ratings are given by users of the platform.
Typically, platforms usually put reviews in chronological order with the most
recent at the top. On our platform however, reviews will be based off ranking and
game time. I.e if someone has spent 10 hours on a game, their review will be
placed closer to the top over someone who has 10 minutes on the game. This will
help to prevent spam reviews and makes it easier for gamers to decide what
games to play.

Levelling System - Users will be able to gain XP and level up by playing all games
within our platform. The levelling system itself is simple, each level will require more
experience points (XP) than the last and XP is earned by playing games on the
platform based on game time and achievements.
Rewards for levelling up will occur every time you advance and higher levels will
unlock more rare and higher value rewards. Rewards will usually be in the form of a
chest and will include cosmetics, icons, XP multipliers and much more. All rewards
will be customisable to your profile.
Users will earn XP by playing any games on the Reef Platform, XP amounts are
determined by game time. Activity checks will be in place to ensure gamers don't
get XP for not being active.
Multiplayer Servers - Reef will have its own dedicated servers to allow for multiplay
games when integrated.
As of current we will launch the platform with servers in Europe, North America, Asia
and Oceania.
Achievement API - Reef will have an achievement API to allow for games to
integrate their internal achievements with Reef allowing for cosmetic rewards
within Reef.
Activity Feed - Gamers will be able to follow their favourite game developers. All
followed developers will be displayed in a tailored activity feed where news will be
shown relating to new games or current game updates.
Reef API - Reef's API integration is required to join Reef. This allows for many of
Reef’s features including enhanced statistics, matchmaking, in-game
achievements, microtransactions and support for Proof of Gaming as well as
user-created content through Reef Mods.
Game key system - Reef will have a game key system which will allow developers to
create keys in case of attending events or giving them out to beta testers.
Customisable Game Page - Reef will have the functionality for developers to modify
their game page to how they want to stand out from the crowd.
Developer profiles - Reef will feature developer profiles which will be easily
accessible on their tailored game pages, allowing the developers to provide more
information to the gamers.
Rating and Reviews - Users will be able to leave a rating and a review of the games
they play on the Reef platform. The developer will be able to view these ratings and
order them by game time to get more reliable feedback.
