Nikolay Dimitrov, Community and Developer advocate at Fetch.ai network, introduces a new ecosystem that offers easy-to-use tools for developing DApps.

What differs your project from another one with the same goals?

N: As a project we’ve actively been working on combining decentralized ledger technology and multi-agent systems for the past 5 years. In that regard its experience, the first mover advantage and the fact that we’re very well capitalized relative to our head count are the main differentiating factors on an organizational level. Moreover, our focus has always been on bringing useful applications in areas outside of the purely financial. Supply chain management, the energy market, urban mobility and smart cities are just a few industries where the technology we’re building can be leveraged to drive optimization and market disintermediation.

How can an individual participate and influence the development of the Fetch ecosystem?

N: Individuals can participate in a plethora of ways. They can contribute to the network’s security either through delegating to validators or becoming a validator themselves. They can govern the network by submitting Fetch.ai improvement proposals or voting on existing ones. Additionally, and for the more technically gifted, they can take part in our bug bounty program or due to the open-source nature of our project can directly contribute in our Github repositories.

If a customer wants to add to his app some additional option which is not provided by your project, would it be possible for him?

N: Yes, as long as they’re willing to explore our technology and develop this feature on their own, they can freely do so. From our end, we can provide technical support on integrating with our tech stack.

Does the number of available tools depend on the amount of FET Tokens on the account?

N: Partially yes. Individuals and companies interested in deploying autonomous economic agents will have to fuel those agents with FET. However, we also have tools such as CosmPY and Jenesis that don’t require the use FET to work with or deploy.

What requirements should a website have to use your ecosystem?

N: An adherence to best practices, a long planning horizon, a commitment to engineering rigor as well as a transparent and accountable team are all highly desired. Beyond that the only other requirements are technical ones and are very well defined in our project’s documentation. 

Tell us more about your incentives and reward system for customers and partner organizations. 

N: Partner organizations interested in leveraging our technology receive a twofold benefit. On the one hand they gain access to a plethora of useful open-source tools such as our network, wallet, autonomous economic framework, and more. On the other hand, leveraging the technology allows them to disintermediate almost any market, ensuring that there’s no middle men or data aggregators that siphon away their contribution margin and data. Additionally due to the ownership and privacy preserving nature of the technology they can now monetize their own data, rather than allowing it to become obsolete.

What kind of security do you use to protect data on your platform?  

N: Beyond the typical cryptographic methods applied in distributed systems additional security with respect to multi-agent based decentralized applications is ensured by following best practices with respect to design and implementation. Code analysis, penetration testing, and security audits are a few examples that developers can leverage to ensure sufficient security measures are taken.

What well-known companies have already used your ecosystem and what projects would you like to see as your partners in future? 

N: We’ve released a proof-of-concept for agent-based parking solutions in partnership with Bosch. Moreover, the collaboration with them spans from the aspects of governance and orchestration of DLT based ecosystems, multi agent technologies to collective learning. Additionally, we have also actively been collaborating with Festo on the creation of a decentralized manufacturing marketplace. This takes a multiagent approach of creating digital software agents to represent all the component parts and allowing them to act on their behalf. As a follow up, we’re interested in working with all companies and organizations interested in creating and deploying multi-agent-based systems in conjunction with distributed ledger technology.

How does your project collaborate with schools, particularly with STEM education? 

N: We’ve so far partnered with a multitude of research and education centers including a partnership with Poland’s Poznan Supercomputing and Networking Center (PSNC) Partner to Develop AI-Powered Collective Learning Module For Cancer Cell Detection. As well as joint-work with the university of Cambridge to develop autonomous supply chains.
