Maitreja Token MAIT Whitepaper

Abstract

Over the last 10 years, technology has become an essential part of everyday life for most people living in democratic countries. Social media, such as Facebook, Instagram and X (ex-Twitter), allow us to connect with people who share a similar philosophy of life, keep up to date with current world events and stay in touch with old friends, even if we all live somewhere else. The Internet and its data have become a kind of our sixth sense, helping us to navigate easily in today's hectic and ever-changing world.

However, few people can even perceive the negative impacts of these tools and start doing something about them. The content and opinions that are spread on these platforms often do not reflect the true nature of the person. Rather, they are the result of impulsive emotional reactions and permanent information overload. Users of these platforms are constantly influenced and isolated in their social bubbles.

Technology has an even worse effect on younger generations and children. Already today, we can see how a stage of human development that has usually been characterised by its infinite creativity and imagination is being transformed by the excessive consumption of digital content. Young adults are presented on social media with people who seem happier and more attractive than themselves. Expert studies are pointing to the fact that excessive activity on social media is contributing to the growth of depression among young people.

However, all of the above cannot be blamed solely on the companies behind the development of these social networks and other digital tools. Their main concern is to satisfy their shareholders and to make as much profit as possible through sponsored advertising campaigns. Criticism of these companies alone is no solution at all. Instead, we should be looking for a way to create a new ecosystem that does not have the primary objective of keeping people glued to their screens in order to watch as much paid content as possible. The solution may be, for example, to the creation of a social network and other tools for everyday safe use that will benefit, protect and strengthen mental health, society and be managed by its users.

Introduction

Maitreja is an innovative technology ecosystem designed with modularity in mind, where each service is interconnected but at the same time economically self-sufficient and functionally independent. Our main goal is to create an environment where its users can freely decide on its shape, responsibly and jointly manage it, and where people treat each other with respect and mutual respect.

Simply put, we are a not-for-profit crypto-organization that develops applications with a positive impact on the world. Our mothership, the healthy social network Mait, allows people to connect and communicate with each other without having to worry about their personal data and its possible misuse. Unlike traditional social platforms, we don't focus on selling ads and keeping our users on their screens for as long as possible to consume as much paid content as possible. Mait does not turn its users into products and tools for generating profit. We seek to go back to the very beginning of social networking and restore original idea - pure digital interaction and socialization, instead of forcibly monetizing user data, influencing opinions with paid advertising, and creating social bubbles and distorted perceptions of the real world.

In addition to Mait's social network, we have a whole host of other applications that not only work inside the network, but can also work seamlessly on their own outside the network. This gives users a lot of flexibility and the ability to use only the ones they really need at any given time.

How can all the above work in today's materialistic world, you ask? First of all, because the project is developed by a non-profit organization, it operates transparently and its future is not decided by a select few. All the funds go to its operation, sustainability, development and spreading of the idea. The MAIT token represents a membership contribution to the non-profit organisation and allows its holders to co-determine the future direction of the project. In the event of a major success of the platform, a special fund will be set up to support promising and like-minded projects that Maitreja will be further involved in. Which ones will they be? That will again depend on the decision of the community.

Currently, our network operates at Mait.me and is also available as a mobile app. Compared to other crypto-projects, we already have a working product, which is a significant advantage for holders of the MAIT token.

1.0 The impact of today's technologies

Over the last century, few inventions have become as central to human life as the internet and social networking. The pandemics of 2020 and 2023 have further increased our dependence on the online world, which has had a significant impact on our screen time.

Social networks are now a key element of social and political life. Banning them is unrealistic, and it wouldn't even help anything - banning and censorship, it's been done before. However, Maitreja aims to develop products that maintain a healthy social and community aspect, but at the same time eliminate manipulation, undesirable practices and tools, and the constant flow of sponsored content - ads. At the heart of our project is the idea of each of us taking responsibility, especially for our behaviour online. Respect for others will foster interpersonal communication and cooperation, which in turn will help to cultivate and moderate discussion in the digital world and make it a slightly better place. At the other end of our shared values is reckless financial gain at the expense of our humanity.

1.1 Impact on Mental Health

Recent years have shown us that the current state of the Internet has a significant impact on the human psyche. Studies, such as the 2016 one from researchers at Pennsylvania State University in the US, point to a correlation between consuming content recommended by social media algorithms and low self-esteem. Addiction to online content also affects our overall life satisfaction index1.

People often consume highly edited and idealised content, which creates unrealistic standards of beauty and happiness. Sophisticated filters and graphic programs have advanced so far that their use and presence in content cannot be easily detected. Social networks such as Instagram are particularly susceptible to this problem. An internal analysis by Meta (ex-Facebook), which came to light by mere misunderstanding, confirmed the findings2.

There is a wealth of expert research on the impact of social media on our health and mental wellbeing. Below, for example, are the results of a study by the UK's Public Health Service that explores this topic in more detail3.

Mental Health Study

Similar findings were confirmed by a Canadian study that revealed a strong correlation between time spent on social platforms and negative mental health outcomes, including suicidal tendencies4 or a number of other studies showing a link between the use of social platforms and the development of anxiety, loneliness and severe depression5, social isolation6, eating problems7 and "phubbing"8. The term was coined by combining the English words "phone" and "snubbing" (insulting one's counterpart by one's mental absence) and describes the behavior of a person who prefers to use his or her phone when communicating face-to-face with others.

1.2 Web tools turning people into commodities

There is a saying that says if you get something for free, then you are the product. It's common knowledge that many social networks and other technology platforms use every bit of your personal data to perfect ad targeting.

Control over who we share our interests and personal information with is often not fully in our hands. With some tools, we don't have the option to choose not to share any data. Some might argue that corporations protect our data from unauthorized access or transfer, from loss or destruction, and from other potential misuse, which unfortunately is not always true. Since 2005, approximately 11 000 cases of data leaks from social networks have been reported.

Incidents

  • A human-id.org visualization representing the number of social network data leaks in the U.S.9. *

Repeated leaks of internal documents from large companies confirm that some of these platforms either actively share their users' personal data or unofficially allow access to it to external companies. The Facebook & Cambridge Analytica case is clear evidence that social media advertising models can use personal data to precisely target psychological campaigns with the intention of influencing their opinions and worldview.

On the social network Mait, all data belongs exclusively to its users, and since it is they who decide on the entire platform, we cannot sell this data to third parties or give access to it to anyone for the purpose of monetisation. The funding of the network can be solved by subscriptions and microtransactions, not by selling personal data. The lack of access to user data by other external subjects and projects minimises the risk of data leakage in this direction.

1.3 Deformation of public debate

Most of us have experienced first-hand how users, hidden under the apparent veil of anonymity of their screens, often utter words in discussions that they would never say to each other's faces. Internet anonymity has led to a radical increase in hate speech between people. Unfortunately, most social networks completely ignore such hateful or offensive speech. According to a number of studies, hate speech accounts for between 0.8 and 11% of the posts and comments examined on social networks 10, leading to greater division in our society, misunderstanding and an unwillingness to listen to others or even have constructive discussions. None of the major social networking sites are particularly dedicated to their users in the area of interpersonal communication. Instead, they have resigned themselves to this task and have begun to present themselves as platforms whose content, featured on them, is the work of users alone, a reflection of the current state of society.

The Maitreja project provides an opportunity to change this trend - to approach the discussion innovatively, educate users, actively involve them in user moderation and also use AI language models to identify argumentative fouls in discussions. This approach will reduce the intensity of emotions experienced, which can potentially be a significant problem for large social networks, as these emotions are one of the main aspects that keep users on platforms longer.

1.4 Platform-driven content

Content creators, especially those on YouTube, face many challenges when trying to monetise their videos as they have to meet a number of strict criteria. Each piece of content is carefully analysed to ensure compliance with laws and copyright. However, the existing system is flawed and often bans content that is not controversial but is subject to pressure from advertising companies. This is because the big platforms are afraid to work with content that might not appeal to their main advertisers and might discourage them from further paid cooperation.

Such parameters lead to a situation where creators only create content that passes the filtering system and ensures monetization. However, this creates an environment that avoids certain topics, which severely limits the ability of users to objectively navigate these topics.

Maitreja is working on several measures that could improve this situation and also help creators to monetise their work fairly - a properly set reward system, human community moderation and the absence of advertising. Our business model emphasizes premium subscriptions, which will bring a number of interesting extensions and new features to subscribers, as well as commissions on transactions that pass through our network - for example, when an online course is sold by its creator or when tickets for an event are sold directly by the event organizer. For more information on monetizing the network, see chapter 3.0.

2.0 Maitreja – Our Solution

One of the biggest advantages of the Maitreya project is entering the ICO with an already working product. We are not building air locks, but real technology with real impact.

The project was created over 7 years ago with a vision to achieve several key points:

  • To create a network that is co-created and owned by its users,
  • To make individual functionalities modular - standalone, not as one giant product,
  • Achieve global impact and then launch the development of additional modules,
  • Avoid wasting time and influencing public opinion by advertisers,
  • Support the emergence of a more responsible society and encourage tolerant and open discussion.
  • Bottom line: to produce technologies with a positive social impact whose fate will be in the hands of the users themselves!

What is all part of Maitreja?

  • The Maitreja Organization
    • Mait.me Social Network
    • App ecosystem
    • Fund for future projects
    • Cloud infrastructure

2.1 Nonprofit organization Maitreja

Users of the Maitreja platform automatically become members of the nonprofit organization when they meet the conditions described in the bylaws. Membership allows users to co-determine the future direction of the platform and participate in its development.

The legal status of a non-profit organisation guarantees users that the aim of the platform is not only to maximise profit, but above all to achieve long-term sustainability. The success of the organisation means expanding the range of modules, applications and projects, all following the decisions of the members.

The main objectives of the non-profit organization Maitreja include, in particular, the development of a conscious society based on community collaboration, learning responsibility and awareness of the impact of one's actions, as well as supporting each individual's unique journey and personal development.

Maitreja will achieve these objectives mainly through the operation of the Mait social network, associated mobile applications and by supporting projects related to its main objectives, particularly in the areas of science and research, technological innovation, law and social responsibility, personal development and environmental protection.

The main objectives of Maitreja will be continuously updated and published on Maitreja.org.

Maitreja Organization also plans to engage in business and other income generating activities that will further its core objectives and make effective use of its assets. Regular audits of the society will be transparently presented and provided without delay to all members of the society, enabling them to monitor the financial health of the organization and assess the achievement of the set objectives. In case of dissatisfaction with the results, voting members (e.g. MAIT token holders) can correct the direction of the platform according to their own preferences.

2.2 Healthy social network Mait.me

A social network that's not just decided by a select few, but by you. Mait is the mothership of a large product fleet, serving as the hub connecting the entire ecosystem. Most of the current features are part of the main platform, but will become standalone modules (apps) in the near future. Our main target audience is creative and thoughtful people interested in self-development.

The success of Mait.me depends primarily on its users. Currently, more than 1,000 people are testing the network. During Q1/2024 we plan to launch a large airdrop (rewards system) that will reward active individuals on the Mait network. With this airdrop we plan to attract new blood, encourage activity from existing users and increase the amount of quality content on the network. At the same time, we are in intensive discussions with a number of large groups of people to prepare them for migration from other networks to Mait.

You can download the Mait app now in the Apple Store and on Google Play.

Features on our platform - current as of February 2024

  • Algorithm Management: You won't find any ads on Mait because we don't view users as a product to be sold. Our algorithm is there for you, not you for it!

    • You can delete all the data collected about your interests at any time, leave the information bubble and discover new posts and topics. By modifying the algorithm's data, it is also possible to escape from the "rabbit hole", i.e. topics in which the user has accidentally found themselves, even if they didn't want to follow them in the first place.
    • You can manually set what you are interested in, thus influencing what the algorithm will show you - for example, you can tell the algorithm to show maximum posts about skiing and minimum about coffee. In your profile settings, each user can easily prioritize certain topics and areas that really interest them, and at the same time see how the algorithm has evaluated their interests. Those he no longer wants to see can be removed with a single click. This is a practical and transparent solution that is unparalleled in today's world. Algorithm management
  • Post Timeline: The main page that displays content from other users, groups, projects and event founders.

    • The Timeline is where you can share all forms of content with others.
    • The Mait Timeline is not intended to keep users on the screen as long as possible. It doesn't emphasize posts full of emotion, but it's meant to serve as a quick overview of what's happening on the network and let users move on to other activities. The result is less time spent on the network and more efficient use of time. As users, we can then use our saved time to spend with loved ones or to meet friends offline.
  • Groups. Anyone can start a group at any time. Whether a user wants to moderate it alone or with others is up to the user.

  • Projects: Connect with like-minded users and work together to achieve your goals. In a project you can discuss and share your ideas with others. More heads know more!

  • Events. Just enter the exact date, choose the location, fill in the event information and entry fee and you can send out invitations to others. Sorting and filtering by accessibility, suitability for children and many other criteria are a matter of course.

  • Blog: Share your original writing with the community or create a blog with your own address on Mait.

  • Background: The Internet is an endless well of ideas and life experiences. Pass on yours through a special integrated educational platform.

  • Profile: Your activity, events, projects and posts are displayed on your profile.

    • Each user can set a detailed privacy level according to their own preferences. It is possible to be completely incognito!
    • When viewing another user's profile, you can see where that user is involved (groups, projects, events) and their activity (articles, posts). What the user has written about themselves is ignored, as their actions say more about them than their words.
    • In addition to private profiles, corporate profiles can also be created that are directly linked to their founders.
  • Friends: Find people with similar values and interests or leave your bubble and explore new waters. The friend algorithm design is completely under your control.

Upcoming features:

  • Reward system for creators: Active users, contributors and creators will be systematically and randomly rewarded with a MAIT token for their contribution to the company and the platform.
  • Defenses for reporting content: Given the shortcomings of algorithm moderation as seen in today's social networks, we consider it a priority to provide users with effective defenses against targeted content reporting, such as hiding or deleting posts.
  • Collective moderation: What's over the line and what's not? This question will be answered by users together. The aim is to create an environment where users can help each other in the discussion, educate each other and develop their interpersonal communication skills. For this feature, we also envisage the involvement of AI based language models to help users, for example, recognize argumentation fouls and other communication errors used in the discussion. In the context of collaborative moderation, users will be motivated and simultaneously rewarded for correctly reporting posts and recognizing inappropriate content. Moderators and the automated system closely monitor reporting trends and are able to respond quickly. With the help of artificial intelligence, we will gradually monitor the quality of reporting from our users and train them.
  • Election system: The election system in place opens up the possibilities of collective management of our fund for future projects. Every member will thus be able to participate in the direction of the Maitreja project through voting.
    • One of our core values is transparency, which is why the results of the vote will be publicly available thanks to blockchain technology. Technically, the voting will be done in such a way that users will not have to pay any transaction fees on the blockchain.
    • The voting system will also include the ability to delegate your vote, plus participants will receive additional benefits within the platform.
  • Guide: We are planning a feature that will serve as a map of all the modules and products used and offered by Maitreja. However, each user will be able to choose whether or not they want to work with these modules.
  • Premium Subscription: Premium members will be able to have a publicly visible profile label and a number of extra benefits and features. The subscription price will be in the range of $4-6 per month.
  • Decentralization of data: During 2024, we will connect the Mait network to the ActivityPub protocol, which provides users with the freedom to migrate their data across different platforms as they wish. Thus, a user will be able to transfer their articles or friends list from one network to another. In this way, not only is the stored data decentralised, but the user also gains full control over their information.

2.3 Functional and upcoming modules

In the context of Maitreja, the term "module" refers to an independently functioning product. An example is Google Maps - it works on its own, but it also complements other Google products.

We are aware that only some modules will become successful applications with global impact. So we're starting with a few carefully selected ones, and will add more as we go along, after at least one of the first apps has created a viral tsunami.

Mait Chat - It is currently in the final testing phase. This chat application allows secure and private communication between Mait members. In addition, it provides the ability to communicate with users who do not have a Mait account, which emphasizes its independence. It will make it easier for users with an account to connect with friends and for others to use the chat features they are used to. As of January 2024, Mait Chat can also make calls and video calls. This module is an integral part of any social network, which is why we pay close attention to it.

Mait Chat is already available for download in the Apple Store and on Google Play.

Tellmee - An app for creating authentic, humorous and enriching conversations using questions that will serve as a basis for using authentic conversations in other modules. This app will be a key marketing booster for the entire Mait platform, with high potential to attract attention not only to the app itself, but also to the entire platform. We see it as an accelerator for other modules. The way the app handles authenticity is a significant step towards restoring naturalness in the social networking environment. During Q2/2024 we expect 50,000-200,000 realized videos, and by the end of Q3/2024 between 0.5 million and 10 million realized videos.

Tellmee is already available for download in the Apple Store and on Google Play.

We are preparing a number of other modules. Often these are standalone features of those already running on the Mait social network. We carefully consider the possibilities and look for opportunities where it makes sense to make the applications stand alone.

Planned modules

Mait Play - A video portal for easy monetization of videos and lectures, which gives creators the freedom to showcase their work and set up monetization in one place. This app responds to the needs of creators to combine different tools to monetize their video content. In the first version of the app, users will be able to purchase content directly from their favorite creators. The business model is based on the platform's percentage share of the content sold. Planned launch Q1/2024.

Mait Vote - Voting application built on blockchain allowing users to set up different types of voting. A transparent and simple way to vote with friends or at the level of entire cities without knowing how the cryptoworld works.

Blog - A standalone blogging application that complements the existing functionality in the Mait network. This application will also enable monetization of written content.

Education tool - Educational courses enriched with life experiences in the app. It will allow capturing knowledge using AI tools and then relaying it back in an authentic form.

Events - This app will enable event organizers to sell event tickets, event registrations and complete event management.

Crowdfunding and Donation: It will provide users with the ability to raise funds for their projects and expand the possibilities of support from fans in the form of donations. It will allow donating services to other users.

Marketplace: A web and mobile app for selling digital and physical items and services. Users will be able to create their own sales profiles.

Mark: Based on the principles of the Mait platform, with an emphasis on authenticity and linking based on users' real interests.

Job Postings: An app that allows you to reach out to employees or freelancers and search for job postings, using authenticity tools combined with video communication.

The number of modules is by no means finite and can grow indefinitely as the community collectively votes. However, growth in the number of modules is contingent on achieving virality and global impact for some of the fastest launching modules.

2.4 Maitreja Future Projects Fund

A portion of the ICO's funding will be directed to the Maitreja Future Projects Fund. Maitreja's main activities as a non-profit organisation include promoting science and research, technological innovation, law and social responsibility, personal development and environmental protection. Projects to be included in the Fund must have a positive social impact and be in line with the goals and vision of MAITREJA. More information about the Fund can be found in chapter 3.4.

2.5 Cloud structure, decentralized data storage and custom connectivity

If the Maitreja project is to be independent and resilient to external influences in the long term, its operation will have to be secured at some stage by a partly in-house infrastructure. In particular, the modules dealing with video will require a significant amount of data, which we would like to store in places where it cannot be affected by the interventions of large technology corporations.

The decentralisation of data storage will consist in partially or completely moving some projects to a decentralised mode, where data will not be stored in one place and cannot be removed by simply disconnecting one of the data centres from the network of decentralised points.

At the same time, Maitreja will be actively involved in projects that promote the independence and sustainable freedom of the Internet. We will look for ways to make content accessible even in countries where governments decide which information users can and cannot access.

3.0 Sustainable Monetization and Project Roadmap

We realize that maintaining an ecosystem of products will be very costly. That's why we plan to charge for premium membership for some of our products. The funds raised will be used to move forward with development and maintenance, in line with Maitreja's goals and taking into account the preferences of the community.

We are creating an ecosystem with long-term financial sustainability, while still honoring all the values on which Maitreja stands.

Since 2016 we have been actively developing the Maitreja ecosystem, and it wasn't until 2023 that we introduced the MAIT token to secure the long-term future of the entire platform!

All the while, we have been able to fund the platform with the support of the Crossroads Foundation and angel investors. But now we need to move forward and simultaneously towards decentralized ownership of the entire platform.

3.1 Monetization Strategy

The project has pre-set monetization strategies that are designed to cover the costs of development and support further development.

How will the project generate revenue?

  • Membership contributions in the form of a MAIT token - this form of funding is used in the first years of the project to support the development and stabilization of the entire platform.
  • Premium membership for Mait.me users who want to support the project and become part of the Maitreja community
  • Small fees from microtransactions for selected services, such as the sale of goods on the marketplace or video courses.
  • Income from external projects that the community will actively support.

With the addition of more modules and projects in the future, other monetization opportunities will open up. Achieving financial self-sufficiency and long-term performance remains one of our top priorities.

3.1.1 Membership Contributions in the Form of MAIT Tokens

As Maitreja is a non-profit organization, it is able to accept membership fees. In our case, the membership contribution is a MAIT token. The holder of these tokens, who at the same time registers on the Mait.me network, obtains the status of a so-called Contributing Member. Such a member is entitled to detailed information about the functioning of MAITREJA.

When a MAIT token is transferred to another person, the status of Contributing Member is also transferred (provided, of course, that the new token holder also registers). In the event that a user transfers all MAIT tokens to another user, he/she loses his/her title of Contributing Member.

Each member has the option to pay more than one membership fee and there is no limit to the number. If a member holds more than 100 MAIT tokens, he/she becomes an Honorary Member and gets the right to vote in the MAITREJA governing bodies. For every additional 100 tokens, he/she receives one additional vote, with a maximum of 2% of the total votes. This token function is described in more detail in chapter 4.0.

3.1.2 Premium Subscription

For users who want to support our platform even more, we are preparing a Premium Monthly Subscription. This subscription will allow users to get various benefits, upgrade their profile or use features that will not be available to regular users. The different variants of the Premium subscription and how it works will be introduced in Q1/2024.

  • The premium monthly subscription is the most important way for users to directly support the development of the Mait platform. Previous analysis shows that up to 48% of users are willing to pay up to $25 per month for a subscription11.
  • Other studies conducted suggest that if additional features are meaningful, up to 42% of users are willing to pay for full access to all features12.
  • It is repeatedly confirmed that the lower the subscription price, the more users are willing to subscribe - up to 30%13.
  • In the case of the Mait.me network, we assume a monthly subscription fee of 4-6 USD, we target 5% of paying users. In this amount of subscribers the network is already fully self-sufficient and generates profit. It is important to stress that the platform will always remain fully functional even for users who pay nothing at all.

3.1.3 Small Fees from Microtransactions

Each module in Maitreja carries its own costs - for development, server operation and marketing. In order to make each module financially self-sustainable and to partially contribute to the costs of the revenue-free modules, small fees will be levied on some transactions.

Let's take the example of the Mait Play module. This is an application (including its website at Mait.me) that allows creators to upload monetisable videos. In this module, Maitreja incurs costs associated with data storage, scaling the videos, and transferring the videos to users who play them. Mait Play also provides a credit card payment option and includes a comprehensive user interface for creators and regular users to find an overview of all transactions.

In this scenario, Maitreja receives 15% of the total amount for which the creator sells their videos, while the rest of the money belongs solely to the creator. These fees not only cover the costs associated with running the platform for the video creators, but also contribute to funding the other video services on the platform. They allow users, for example, to share their videos for free on the Mait social timeline directly from their devices.

Microtransaction fees thus play a key role in the financial stability of the entire ecosystem and allow the platform to operate without the need for paid advertising.

3.1.3 Realized revenue from community-supported projects

As already mentioned in chapter 2.4, after the ICO, we envisage the establishment of a Maitreja Project Support Fund, which will support projects in line with the objectives and values of the whole ecosystem. This support can take various forms, including financial. In case of success of a supported project, Maitreja may realise additional income, e.g. in the form of a donation or a classic exit through the sale of shares.

The details of the ways in which Maitreja will enter into projects and realise income from them will be specified when the Fund is established. Please refer to section 3.4 for further details.

3.2 The Vital Role of Marketing for Maitreja and MAIT

The MAIT token is an important fuel and the pure sap of the entire ecosystem, whose roles, benefits and rights in the community are irreplaceable. Token holders become members of the Maitreja community and play a key role in generating interest in the project and its vision. Therefore, MAIT will very often be used in many different marketing activities common in the cryptocurrency world.

These include:

  • Exclusive "Ask-Me-Anything (AMA)" events with MAIT founders and representatives.
  • Reviews and content from well-known figures in cryptocurrency, charities, technology and investing.
  • Maximizing the media potential of our vision, branding and PR at home and abroad. Collaboration with global media to disseminate the intent of the Mait platform.
  • Ambassador program rewarding active participation in the community and sharing our vision.
  • Organizing traditional events with a focus on responsible technology, philanthropy and the like.
  • The cryptocurrency market offers many other opportunities as well! All will be transparently consulted with the community on our Telegram, so be sure to join!

3.3 SWOT Analysis of the Maitreja Platform

In order to briefly describe all the input variables that affect the success of the project, we have prepared for you a classic SWOT analysis. This analysis defines a list of strengths, weaknesses, opportunities and threats associated with the Maitreja project.

Strengths:

  • Transparency of products, token and team
  • Modularity and interoperability of the planned products
  • Functional product releases already in place when entering the ICO
  • Reliable team maintaining continuous development
  • Innovative approach to technology within the philanthropy

Weaknesses:

  • Dependence on B2C marketing
  • Longer transition to self-employment models
  • Difficult to communicate vision and attract mainstream users

Opportunities:

  • Attracting users through a unique approach to technology
  • Prevailing skepticism towards current social networks
  • Attracting a large user base by rewarding quality contributions to discussions
  • Potential for high social impact of the platform and fund

Threats:

  • Market risk associated with a potential token surplus
  • Low liquidity of the fund in case of problems during the ICO
  • Risk associated with potential hacker attacks
  • High monopolization of the technology market

3.4 The Future Projects Fund

As mentioned above, the Maitreja Future Projects Fund is an instrument that will be created after the ICO. Projects covered by this fund will have to fall within the areas supporting science and research, technological innovation, law and social responsibility, personal development and environmental protection. An important criterion for the selected projects is their positive social impact and consistency with the objectives and vision of Maitreja Organization.

The actual decision on how and which projects will be supported will depend on the users, the MAIT token holders, thanks to the voting model outlined in the following diagram. We believe that the decentralised fund will provide a unique opportunity to implement ideas that will have a positive impact on society and the environment for us and for future generations. In this way, we are fulfilling one of the fundamental objectives of the non-profit organization Maitreja.

The establishment of the fund will follow the completion of the development of most of the modules mentioned above or earlier if Mait achieves self-sustainability. Details of the fund's formation and its exact parameters will be announced in 2025.

It should be added that the Maitreya Future Projects Fund aims to create value, not just contribute to good causes. Below are the most important factors that will play a crucial role in supporting the projects.

Criteria for project support:

  • Transparency and vision must match Maitreja's values.
  • High probability of financial self-sufficiency of the project.
  • Projects do not have to be limited to cryptocurrencies; they can also be a traditional type of business.

The performance of the projects and the Fund will be continuously communicated to community members through annual comprehensive reports. Of course, we will also have regular external audits to ensure the two most important things for us - our transparency and credibility.

The growth in value of the projects selected by the community will help to highlight the strength and prestige of the Maitreya name. All projects together represent the intrinsic value of the platform and the token. Holders of more than 100 MAIT tokens have the exclusive right to vote in any decision. The growth in the value of the projects will have an indirect effect on the value of the platform and the token, i.e. there is no dividend payment. The community will have the final say in any decision made by the Fund, including decisions to abandon some investments in favour of others. The specific actions of the Fund will be the responsibility of MAIT token holders and other voting members of the democratically elected Board.

3.5 Maitreja Roadmap 2023/2024

Maitreja's roadmap is a blueprint for the development of the cryptoproject. Our roadmap is publicly available and the overall development of the project can be followed on our social media and Telegram.

Roadmap

4.0 Token MAIT: Its Role and Tokenomics

The MAIT token is an important fuel, pure sap and member contribution to the non-profit organization and the Maitreya project. Its role is designed so that it is not necessary for the normal use of services, but still allows its holders to express their opinion through voting and actively participate in the development of the whole platform. Tokens offer tempting rewards, bonuses and benefits, but no one is forcing anyone to own and use them, which will make life easier, especially for those who are not too fond of cryptocurrencies.

Connecting MAIT tokens to the ecosystem:

  • Membership contribution to the Maitreja Organization giving its holders a vote on the future direction of the platform.
  • Creating a "pool" of rewards and bonuses to encourage network activity, discussion and quality content creation.
  • The opportunity to participate in the success of the entire Maitreja ecosystem.
  • Integrating the MAIT token wallet into all products in the Maitreja ecosystem, allowing the token to be used within the network and their modules.

It is crucial for any cryptocurrency project to ensure that its token has a mission and a real utility - its reason for existence and its practical use.

Utility of the MAIT token:

  • A voting right in deciding the future of the entire ecosystem and all supported projects - 100 MAIT = 1 vote.
    • 1-99 MAIT + registration on mait.me = Contributing Member
    • 100+ MAIT + registration on mait.me = Honorary Member
    • 99 MAIT = 0 vote, 100 MAIT = 1 vote, 199 MAIT = 1 vote, 200 MAIT = 2 votes, etc. Linking the wallet address with the stored tokens and the Mait account will unlock the ability to vote. The link is anonymized and no identity verification is required.
  • Rewards for users for quality contributions, contributions to discussions and proactive activities (moderation or regular participation in announced challenges). This step will, among other things, partially replace the content moderation algorithm.
  • At a later stage, the possibility of using MAIT for internal exchange using the second layer of Ethereum (Ethereum Layer 2) or other suitable tools.
  • With the arrival of new modules, we will gradually reveal other ways to use the token.

4.1 Basic MAIT Token Information

The MAIT token runs on Ethereum's largest decentralized network. It is built on the ERC-20 protocol, which allows it to work on other networks. The project is designed with long-term scalability in mind. The contract that created MAIT has been subjected to a rigorous security audit by Ackee Blockchain. The total number of tokens is finite and immutable. It has been fixed at 720,000,000 MAIT.

65% of all tokens will be allocated for distribution at the ICO, i.e. 468,000,000 MAIT.

4.2. ICO Procedure

The ICO will take place in at least 3 rounds, taking into account 2 key factors:

  • Time: Earlier purchase is more advantageous due to higher risk.
  • Lock: Those who truly believe in the future of the Maitreya project and decide to lock their tokens in the blockchain for 2 years instead of 1 year will receive 10% more tokens. If you have any further questions, please send us a message on Telegram.

Details of each round of our ICO are as follows: Round 1: Q3/2023 - 3/31/2024, price 1 USDT = 1 or 1.1 MAIT (lock-in for 1-2 years) Round 2: 4/01/2024, price 1,2 USDT = 1 or 1,1 MAIT, the end will be determined before the start of the round. Round 3: To be determined during 2024

4.2.1 Token Lock-up Rules

When you purchase MAIT, you have the option to decide whether you want to lock your tokens for 1 or 2 years. If you lock your tokens for 2 years, you will get 10% extra MAIT. Locking means that after you get your MAIT, all your tokens will be locked in a transparent smart contract for the aforementioned period of time, and will only be released after that period of time. This system gives us time to develop our products and offers members not only a better price, but also protection from price volatility (fluctuations) in the early stages of development.

Tokens reserved for the team and rewards for users and advisors will be locked in for 2.5 years with a gradual release of 20% every six months. Everything will be fully transparent and tracked in real time via a blockchain browser on the internet.

Marketing tokens, market liquidity reserve and risk-management tokens will not be subject to any vesting period.

4.2.2 Tokens Not Claimed in the ICO

Tokens that do not find their owners during the ICO itself will be locked in a smart contract for 10 years. Each year, 10% will be released into a reserve to reward users. This way, the ratio between tokens reserved for the team and the community will not change.

4.3 MAIT Tokenomics

The term "tokenomics" was coined by combining the words "token" and "economics" and describes a macroeconomic view of the token's operation within the project. This includes, for example, the allocation of MAIT for different activities, ICOs and other aspects.

MAIT allocation:

  • ICO (468,000,000 MAIT)
    • intended for early-adopters in 3 consecutive rounds
    • subject to time lock
  • User Rewards (86,400,000 MAIT)
    • to be distributed to active creators and members over the following years
    • their share can be increased by unused tokens from the ICO, see chap. 4.2.2
    • subject to time lock
  • Market Liquidity Reserve (21,600,000 MAIT)
    • designed for listing on decentralised and centralised exchanges and other market activities
    • not subject to time lock
  • Risk-management (14,400,000 MAIT)
    • intended as a reserve for unexpected events and opportunities, such as unexpected stock market crashes
    • not subject to time lock
  • Marketing (50 400 000 MAIT)
    • intended to support the long-term growth of the project through collaboration with various creators, influencers and ambassadors
    • not subject to time lock
  • Team (57,600,000 MAIT)
    • intended for members of the implementation team
    • subject to time lock
  • Advisors (21,600,000 MAIT)
    • intended for external consultants and other collaborators, as the Maitreja project is not worked only by our team
    • subject to time lock

ICO Alokace

How will the funds raised from the ICO be used? It is Maitreja's policy to be fully transparent with our members, which is why we provide a basic overview of our plans already in this White Paper. In the chart below you will find the estimated allocations of ICO funds. Please keep in mind that this is only a preliminary estimate. We will keep you informed of any changes through our communication channels, so be sure to keep an eye on them so you don't miss anything important.

  • 25% - platform development
  • 16% - cloud infrastructure and custom connectivity
  • 10% - marketing
  • 49% - future projects fund

4.4 Voting Rights

The holder of 1 MAIT with registration on maitreja.com becomes a Contributing Member. Holder of at least 100 MAIT with registration on maitreja.com becomes an Honorary Member. Linking the wallet address with the stored tokens and the Maitreja account will unlock the ability to vote. The link is anonymized and no identity verification is required. Every 100 MAITs represents one vote for use in deciding the direction of the ecosystem and the projects supported. Votes can be counted.

We will introduce the voting method and tools needed for voting in Q2/2024.

Maitreja's bylaws include the following distribution of voting rights at the beginning: Voting

One voter in the categories Responsible members, MAIT Token Holders and Leaders can hold a maximum of 2% of the votes in each of these categories.

As the number of users increases, the founders will reduce their decision-making share in favour of the remaining groups. We will present the rules for this gradual transfer of decision shares and an explanation of the different categories of voters, together with the voting method and voting tools.

4.5 Entry to the stock exchange

After the end of the 3rd round of token distribution, it will be possible to exchange MAIT tokens on larger crypto exchanges. We will be preparing for this situation intensively during 2025 and will gradually enter into cooperation agreements with individual exchanges. At the same time as entering the exchange, we will prepare a staking program for all token holders, which will allow them to lock their tokens for the next period of time under favorable conditions. We consider a quality staking program as one of the important points for stabilizing the value of the token and partially limiting its volatility.

Another important element that we will prepare in advance will be an audit of the value of the entire Maitreja ecosystem. Our goal will be to demonstrate that the value of the entire project will be equal to or even higher than the value of the token when it enters the open market, indicating that the token is undervalued.
