If a butterfly flaps its wings in the Amazonian rain forest, it can change the weather half a world away. Every decade or so, a new game-changer concept emerges and changes our perspective on life. Most of these concepts were subtle in their emergence but paved the way for whole new realities in the longer term. We believe it is time for the next game-changing concept. A concept that constitutes the very basis of our human life. Identity.

Most of our everyday activities have shifted to be digital. The pandemic has changed the way we live and accelerated our reliance on a digital-based society. From the moment we wake up, we unlock our phones and computers, log in to services we use, and start communicating with other people and third parties. If we notice a new service that we like, we create a new account using our digital ID (email address or phone number) and start using the service. If we leave our house, we lock the door behind us so no one can enter. To unlock our cars, we use a key that holds our “identity” and affirms our “ownership” of the car. To enter our offices, we use another key. Attending an event or watching a movie in the cinema (i.e., using a ticket), entering the gym (i.e., using a membership card), buying groceries from a nearby supermarket (i.e., using a bank card). Literally, any activity we do in life starts with establishing identity.

Your ID is much bigger than access control and day-to-day operations. Anything you own constitutes a part of who you really are. You are the music you listen to, the books you read and the things you own. You are your data. If you are an artist or a writer, your art and books are assets that you evaluate and trade the way you like using contracts. We believe data ownership is the key to a truly decentralised world. As soon as you own your data, passive decentralisation becomes the norm. Compared to blockchain technology, the ID ecosystem was built the opposite way around. Blockchain was built with a focus on transactions that enable so-called data ownership. The ID ecosystem was built with a focus on ownership that automatically enables peer-to-peer transactions. IDZ doesn’t own the ID ecosystem. We only enable and manage it. Any ID cloud, including IDZ, enables you to use the ID ecosystem but has no power over your own and control data.

Since the 1970s, people started their technology journey with computers. They later transitioned smaller, to phones. Almost everyone has access to a computer and a phone now. We think it is time to transition even smaller, to wearables. We think wearables are not only to tell the time or track health but also to hold one’s identity. If computers were associated with email addresses and programs, phones with phone numbers and apps, we believe wearables will be associated with IDs and assets.

We are the global citizens of earth. We believe our earth is too small to be divided into 195 countries. We are creating a global ID ecosystem for everyone to use. Similar to how you deposit your money in your bank, from now on, you can deposit your valuable assets in an ID cloud and become part of a global identity system. We believe everyone on the planet will have a kind of digital ID in the next 10 years. We believe a global world needs a global Identity hence we have built a private and secure ID ecosystem for everyone and for everything. The ID ecosystem is intended for individual use, for companies, wearable makers, internet developers and cloud storage providers.
