Experts and research teams from various fields were invited to discuss the macro trends, applications, and policy & legal analysis of blockchain development.
EDCON 2020 was held online from August 9-11, 2020. In response to the COVID-19 crisis, it marked the first instance where all EDCON keynotes and sessions were made publicly available without any charge, ensuring broader accessibility. The event received strong support from the Ethereum Foundation, various Ethereum communities, and many other contributors in the blockchain space. With the help of these supporters and the enthusiastic participation of Ethereum enthusiasts, EDCON 2020 managed to exert a significant influence, maintaining the impactful legacy of its previous years.
EDCON 2019 was held on April 8-13, 2019, in Sydney. The event had a even larger scale and was presented in the form of “EDCON Week”, covering: (1) EDCON HACK (April 8-10): This hackathon served as the kick-off for EDCON Week. Topics included Sharding, Proof of Stake (PoS), Clients, Plasma, Channel, Snark, and more, attracting developers and enthusiasts from around the world. (2)EDCON Conference (April 11-13): The main conference segment featured core Ethereum development teams who discussed the latest updates in Ethereum research and technology. Other prominent figures in the blockchain space shared their insights on current trends, projects, and applications, as well as their plans for community building and development. This multi-day event offered a comprehensive look at the advancements and future prospects within the Ethereum ecosystem.
EDCON 2018 was held in Ryerson University, Toronto, Canada on May 3-5, 2018. The conference covered the latest in Ethereum Blockchain technology and research (PoS / Casper, scalability, cryptography / privacy, security, etc), current trends as well as Ethereum and blockchain based projects and applications and community building and development. As a newly added activity, a Super Demo contest was also hosted as part of the conference.
