Globally it is estimated there are in excess of 4 billion tires sitting in stockpiles and landfills. Scrap tires are everywhere; on the side of the road, in ponds and lakes, in the woods, and even in our oceans. Tire pollution not only looks unappealing but destroys the environment and puts our health at risk.
As we expand our vision of the contamination of our world, we see more than just tires causing catastrophic problems in the environment. Tires, cosmetics, plastic bags, and even our clothing – plastic is in almost everything we use on a daily basis. And it's having a disastrous impact on our oceans.
