Polygon\u2019s comparable companies include Avalanche, Cosmos, and Polkadot.<\/p>\n<p>MATIC is the native cryptocurrency of the Polygon network. It\u2019s used for settlements among participants on the Polygon network. That\u2019s over 7x returns that Ethereum generated. Ethereum has three bottlenecks: low throughput, poorly governed community, and expensive gas fees.<\/p>\n<p>This is where Polygon provides substantial value. It allows developers to create an Ethereum-compatible blockchain and access the main Ethereum blockchain ecosystem. Polygon is a protocol and framework that enables a developer to create and also connect Ethereum-compatible blockchain.<\/p>\n<p>With one-click deployment and custom development modules, Polygon puts a lot of power in a developer\u2019s hands. Polygon\u2019s interoperability protocol makes communication between the main Ethereum blockchain and other networks easy. Plus, developers can also use adaptor modules that offer interoperability among existing blockchain networks.<\/p>\n<p>Why does this matter? Well, DeFi is about to revolutionize global finance. The bottlenecks and ease of use will likely draw attention from developers that are central to this revolution \u2014 consider them the revolution\u2019s warriors if you will. In a task that\u2019s already fairly complex, a tinge of simplicity can provide a lot of utility.<\/p>\n<p>The two-fold fundamental strength that comes from addressing Ethereum\u2019s bottlenecks and offering simplicity to developers is at the core of MATIC. In the future, this is what\u2019s likely to drive the price upward, making MATIC an asset worth considering for every crypto investor.<\/p>\n<h3><span class=\"ez-toc-section\" id=\"3_Polygons_growth_spree\"><\/span>3. These projects used Polygon to reach their goal of one million DeFi users. They also brought their communities to capitalize on Polygon\u2019s low gas composability. The future of blockchain innovation is shaped by these developments, showcasing how blockchain scalability and low transaction costs can drive mass adoption in decentralized finance.<\/p>\n<p>Polygon also announced plans to build a DAO (decentralized autonomous organization) as part of their growth strategy. The DAO will encourage collaboration among blockchain systems. Polygon aims for 100 million users initially and will need to withdraw around $100 million from its #DeFiforAll fund along the way.<\/p>\n<p>The latest in Polygon\u2019s growth story was Polygon\u2019s acquisition of Hermez Network on August 13 in a deal valued at <a href=\"https:\/\/cointelegraph.com\/news\/polygon-acquires-hermez-network-for-250m-will-merge-native-tokens\"><b>$250 million<\/b><\/a>. The deal brought Hermez under Polygon\u2019s control and added one more name under Polygon\u2019s current portfolio featuring Polygon Avail and Polygon SDK.<\/p>\n<p>All these events are a testament to Polygon\u2019s growth spree. It\u2019s growing and it\u2019s not going to stop anytime soon. This presents a unique opportunity for investors that missed Bitcoin or Ethereum\u2019s growth phase. If Polygon does replicate either of those blockchain\u2019s performances, it could make investors unimaginably wealthy.<\/p>\n<h2><span class=\"ez-toc-section\" id=\"The_Risk_The_relationship_between_Polygon_and_Ethereum\"><\/span>The Risk: The relationship between Polygon and Ethereum<span class=\"ez-toc-section-end\"><\/span><\/h2>\n<p data-pm-slice=\"1 1 []\">It\u2019s not surprising if investors haven\u2019t heard of MATIC yet. If a new programmable blockchain like Cardano manages to claim Ethereum\u2019s spot in the future, Polygon\u2019s solutions are at the risk of being rendered irrelevant. It\u2019s unlikely Ethereum will disappear, even if another programmable blockchain takes a larger share. The future of blockchain innovation suggests Ethereum\u2019s role will evolve, but its foundational influence will persist, shaping the next generation of blockchain technologies.<\/p>\n<p>Developers argue the upgrade won\u2019t significantly affect Polygon\u2019s relevance. Polygon\u2019s solutions can further speed up transactions and facilitate communication between Ethereum and other networks. The growth is visible in the price and now could be a great time for an investor to take a position.<\/p>\n<p>The important thing though is to understand that literally none of the crypto coins are risk-free. The risk for MATIC is Ethereum 2.0, but of course, there\u2019s a lot of uncertainty around how Ethereum 2.0 will actually perform and how much the current blockchain\u2019s bottlenecks it will successfully remove.<\/p>\n<p>For investors that believe they have the risk capacity to weather through any short-term swings, have capital that they can invest in a high-risk asset, and are confident about their decision are likely to benefit from Polygon\u2019s growth over the next few years.
